Been here twice in the last month and a half, both times went well. Had a 0700 appointment on 01-11-25, was unloaded and down the road by 0830.
Previous time I was there was very similar, no time wasted getting a door and unloaded. Not sure what these other drivers are complaining about but, itās always been a good experience for me. Doesnāt mean itāll be the same the next time I go there, after all⦠this is trucking.
Not a fan of the way they have you ācheck inā with the App either, you have to navigate through multiple pages/steps just to read a message, etc. I just wish theyād call you when theyāre ready for you, like itās been for the last how many decades. Why fix whatās not broken?
You MUST check in with the guard shack located on Fratt Rd first. Once you do that, youāll park off to the right and wait for a text on what entrance/gate they want you to drive to. DO NOT show up to your appointment any earlier than 2 hours before your scheduled appointment time. They will turn you away!
I get it though, they canāt have drivers piled up at the entrance where youāll be delivering to if theyāre not ready to unload you. Hence the reason for checking in and waiting for a door at the guard...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI HATE this place!! I've been delivering here for YEARS and it's always the same crazy circus! H.E.B. needs to get rid of this antiquated nightmare of a warehouse (they are supposedly converting it to meat and frozen food only in 2020). It is SO GROSSLY overcrowded with their own parked trailers randomly scattered along with their own H.E.B. trucks zooming around at 40 mph as you're trying to back into a tight door without damaging anything. Do NOT be shy about asking a yard truck to move an H.E.B. trailer if you need more space, they will do this! Then, after dealing with the hassles of lumpers and Comcheks you have to wait for the H.E.B. "partners" (employees) to count and verify the merchandise offloaded by the lumpers. THIS is what takes FOREVER! Unlike Walmart or Kroger who possess 21st century technology allowing a truckload of mixed grocery merchandise to be checked in within two hours, H.E.B. ALWAYS takes four to six or even eight hours to check in using some primitive 1970's methodology (an abacus? their fingers and toes?). When you finally get your signed paperwork you will undoubtedly kiss the papers while looking to heaven, "Lord, please,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou check in at a different location before coming here. Once checked in they put you in a holding area, which my holding time was about 10 minutes. Once I arrived at this location I went to my assigned dock door to find another truck in the dock. I then went to the receiving office to notify them with hopes of getting a different door. I was told they had just called the driver. After 20 min of waiting I went back to the receiving office and was advised by the smart ass attendant that I should go knock on the drivers door. I advised him that it was not my job to go door knocking. He then told me that I would just have to wait. Fine with me is what I told him while I sit in front of the other docks with my flashers on. Needless to say it was about 5 minutes that they had someone out there to have him move. Sorry not Sorry. But itās your dock and your property and itās your job to control the flow into and out of the docks. Other than this one smart ass, everyone else was very nice and professional. Oh for the new guys be careful. Itās a little tight. I witnessed the yard truck backing over these big...
