So tonight 2/19/22, I walked in to place my order and this guy Devin S. walked up slowly to the register with this blank look on his face. I said "Hi" and he said nothing and just stared at me with his eyebrows raised. I thought maybe he didn't hear me so I said, "How are you?" and he sighed and mumbled "fine" as he tilted his head expecting me to get on with the order, so I did. After I ordered, he didn't ask me if that completed my order or even gave me my total but I saw it on the register. I swiped my card and he pulled the receipt and place it to the left of the counter away from me...I was on the right. He just turned away and it was obvious this guy's goal was to make me feel as unwelcomed as possible. After, the next person in line ordering was greeted by Devin and was even given a little small talk so I thought that they knew each other because he was completely rude to me. After paying close attention I realized that they didn't know each other; this guy Devin S just happened to be giving this other person the customer service and decency that he chose to withhold from me. Even though we didn't know each other either, Devin S acted as if I had stolen from his mom....I have not! Nor have I done anything to warrant a negative manner. The only difference that I can tell between me and the second customer is that Devin may have felt that he was more like the second customer (appearance-wise) and so he probably felt that the other customer deserved a greeting, receipt/money placed in-hand, light conversation, and a "thank you" afterwards. There is a manager at this particular location with really cool tattoos on both arms and a guy that I saw with a nice full afro; so it would seem that this restaurant is somewhat diverse but as I looked around that's as far as the diversity went and that's not at all a problem for me; however considering the treatment that I experienced, it's apparent that certain people aren't really treated or received well here. Maybe that's not the case for all the employees there but that certainly goes for (Devin S). I will not visit this location again because call me crazy but I'm very paranoid to eat food that a seemingly hostile-for-no-logical-reason person has prepared. You win!...WhataRacist (1)- customer (0). If google doesn't allow me to post this guy's photo, I'll sent it along with this review to Whataburger's...
Read moreThis Manager Chrissa At This Whataburger Was Prejudice Against Me And Lied To Me. I Ordered A Patty Melt With No Onion's, Unfortunately There Were Onions On My Burger. I'm Also Allergic To Onions, So If I Didn't Catch The Smell I Would Have Ate It And My Wind Pipe Would've Swelled Up And I Would Have Died. Well When I Called The Manager Chrissa Said She Would Replace It, When I Got There Other Employee/ Team Leader Adrian Aguilar Refused To Replace It After She Said She Would As Long As I Had The Receipt, His Reason Was Because He Personally Made The Burger Himself Which He Said. Well After That She Looked At Me Up And Down With Distain And Said "I'm Not Going To Replace It After All , I'm Taking My Employee Word For It". Basically Calling Me A Liar, I Felt So Helpless, At That Point. If This Is The Kind Of People That Whataburger Hires, I'm Terrified For Other Customers That Have Gone Through, Because They Just Got Over On Me, I Can Imagine How Many People They Treat When They're Wrong, Just Accept That You Made A Mistake, We're All Human We Make Mistakes But When You Lie And Start Denying That You Made A Mistake, It Becomes A Major Issue Especially When It's A Life Or Death Situation Like Mines, With The Onions. I Didn't Think It Was Going To Be A Big Deal But It Became One When Chrissa (Manager) Lied To Me And Changed Her Mind After I Showed The Proof She Asked Me For, Then Adrian Aguilar (Team Leader) Started Lying Right In Front Of My Face, That's When It Became A Problem. I Would Have Took It Back Earlier But I Didn't Have A Ride At The Time So I Had To Wait By Then I Gave The Burger To My Dog And Made Me A Sandwich And Ate The Fries With The Drink. JUST SKIP THIS WHATABURGER AND GO TO THE ONE DOWN THE...
Read moreMost of the staff are polite and professional but there is a really old guy named Ramiro who runs food up front to customers and he is rude and gruff and possibly there is some old school "racismo" inside of him. I order from this location all the time online and usually Mr. Botello's store gives me a good experience but this time I ordered for my work lunch and I simply entered as usual and went over to stand by the food pickup area near the drink machine corner. Ramiro was standing there putting orders together. I politely told him that I had placed an order online about 10 minutes ago for pickup. Instead of him greeting me and saying something simple like "I'll be right with you sir, what was the name on the order? " or "Hello sir, we'll be right with you" or anything professional, he waved me off, was totally non-verbal, then grunted and looked at the line then looked at me and said loudly, "I KNOW EVERYONE WANTS THEIR FOOD BUT EVERYBODY HAS TO WAIT!!" Then he quickly scurried away. It was weird, rude, totally unexpected and unwarranted. I didn't disrespect him or anything. I wasn't rude or impolite. So, I like this location and it's close to my job but that old dude Ramiro needs some customer service coaching or maybe it's time for him to retire and go play with the grandkids because being rude to customers for no reason is how you lose business. I respect everyone so I can only speak from experience and here in SA there is definitely plenty of that ol' school "racismo" from the older crowd and y'all KNOW what I'm talking about so that could be an issue but maybe not....but either way, good customer...
