To visit an inmate, file the appropriate paperwork with the Patton State police (mail it in) for a "background check" and you can go in to see your loved one on Sundays. I know, I've been there. I recommend minimizing interactions with staff as they are "high-strung," ignorant people. Don't do it. Must be court ordered to be there so District Attorney's office (DA) and public defender/private attorneys are useless. According to my brother the "counselors," doctors and those in training don't genuinely care (less interested then DMV employees) spending a better part of their shifts gossiping about personal nonsense and out of sight in their "offices." Apparently they document progress made for the court going so far as to put their thoughts/expert opinions.. According to the state's website, the ratio of employees to patients/inmates is insane.
