I've been shopping at San Jose's Briarwood Antiques since 2009 and ALWAYS enjoyed shopping here and as of most recently, selling at this store a small handful of my old Sterling silver rings. For myself and a few of my good friends, Briarwood Antiques is a PARADISE for treasure hunters who LOVE to scour for rare finds or admire motleys of vintage items displayed inside (or outside) several cases. The owner, Lynrd (yes, that IS her name) is a REAL sweetheart and VERY helpful if you ask to look at an item in a display case, or if you'd like to sell some genuine Sterling silver jewelry. In fact, just a few weeks ago, I'd sold a good handful of my Sterling silver rings (as well as some well-kept base metal & costume rings☺) - and made some good extra $😁. Read moreThe cashier today wrongly accused my wife of theft, very loudly in front of 10 customers. When asked who said this, we were walked out, and a man outside, stating he was the owner, threatened to call the cops with a trespassing order. We had just left Antiques Colony next door having purchased $20 worth of comic books (which we'd left in the car before entering Briarwood). Maybe our experience was the odd one out, or maybe the owners were on drug today, but beware for random and very offensive behavior...
Read moreSome stalls were great, but I felt very uncomfortable shopping here since almost every stall had a collection of extremely racist items. If a black seller is profiting off these items (YEAH RIGHT) I have no problem with that and I see that they are interesting bits of history, but yikes.
