Exploring Arenales Cave with Puerto Rico as a Local was an absolute highlight of my trip, and I can’t recommend it enough! Yamile, our guide, made the experience unforgettable with her warm personality and incredible knowledge.

From the moment we met Yamile, she was nothing short of a sweetheart. She welcomed everyone like family, immediately putting us at ease. Her passion for sharing the hidden gems of Puerto Rico shone through in every part of the tour.

The hike to Arenales Cave was an adventure in itself—lush greenery, beautiful rock formations, and the sounds of nature all around. Yamile kept the pace comfortable and shared stories and insights about the area, from its history to the local plants and wildlife.

The cave itself was breathtaking. Swimming through the tunnels and seeing the stunning formations felt like stepping into a secret world. Yamile’s guidance made it even better; she pointed out details we would’ve missed on our own and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout.

What I appreciated most was her genuine care for both the environment and her guests. She emphasized responsible tourism and left us with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the area.

Yamile is absolutely phenomenal!!! She is so knowledgeable about the history, nature, food, and culture of Puerto Rico. We went on the ATV/Rainforest Tour as well as the Old San Juan/Loiza Tour with her and immensely enjoyed both experiences. She was very personable, welcoming, and excited about being able to show us the island. We appreciated her being able to pick us up and safely drive us to and from each location. She kept cold waters on her van so that we didn't get thirsty and made sure that we were always comfortable. She is very flexible and adapts food choices, walking paths, and visited locations to accommodate your group and was able to offer awesome recommendations for other places for us to eat/visit during our stay. She sees everyone as "family" and treats them as such. Yamile did a wonderful job at translating and was even able to teach us a few words and phrases in Spanish. She is the best "paparazzi" you could ask for and helped to capture all of our special moments! What an amazing experience!!!! We had originally planned to go to the cave tours in Camuy and Ventana but they were closed due to the pandemic, however I am so glad we found Puerto Rico As A Local. Yamile (our tour guide) was exceptional. Not only was she a wealth of knowledge but friendly, inviting, thoughtful, and funny. This tour was sooo much better than we expected. The areas she has access to makes it worthwhile. My wife and I have taken several tours in different parts of the world and this was by far the best experience. First of all the convenience of being picked up and driven to the different areas is a benefit all on its own if you have ever driven anywhere on the island. She has safety equipment and it is clean and well kept. The tour was well organized and she takes great picture's for your memories.
