Horrible baggers
If I say I want plastic bags, they put one or two things in each bag and I end up with way too many. If I say paper, they over fill the bags, often with heavy items. Last time I was in, I asked that they use paper but that if the items are heavy, please use plastic. I was looked at as if I were a crazy person. Why was that so hard to comprehend? I said fine, use all paper if that's too complicated. One bag I ended up getting had a half gallon of milk, a two liter of soda and other items all in one PAPER bag, WAY too heavy.
I have brought my own reusable totes before as well and they get so overloaded it's ridiculous. I bring plenty of bags and half of them get used. If I try to ask that they dont do that, I always get dirty looks. I have even seen this happen to seniors and have had to help put bags in their car because they cant lift them out of their carts.
This is my favorite store to shop at for prices, selection, fresh produce and nice store, but the employees have gotten more rude over the years and seem to get more and more unhappy. The manager, Steve, is always too busy to talk to me when I have tried to bring things up with him in person.
Please just train the baggers to not only stop over filling bags but also to keep cold items together to help keep them cold on the way home, as many of your customers are from rural areas and have...
Read moreI like to bulk shop once maybe twice monthly. So my grocery bill is fairly predictable. Single person, try to eat clean & healthy. However, since inflation my grocery bill has more than doubled in my total spending at OTHER stores. Feels like I'm spending enough to feed 3 people mthly at OTHER stores. Here at Super 1 Foods, I'm paying only a bit more than before inflation *compared to other grocery stores nearby. I can find most products I like & are a staple to me. i.e organic, clean, non GMO, no preservatives, natural products. I like the fresh produce & organic selections. I appreciate the friendly customer service. Tho, I've found customer service everywhere I've been up here in the North extremely gracious & efficient. Will be glad to continue to shop here for my bulk grocery supply needs. Tho I'll be buying meat & eggs from local farmers/ranchers soon & also intend to start buying some produce seasonally from local farmers, ranchers & homesteaders. I for sure will continue to get other groceries, paper towels, toilet paper, etc from here at...
Read moreThey advertise fresh sushi made daily. I'm not sure that it's made daily as the packages can sometimes be 2-3 days old. Additionally, I'm not sure what time the sushi is supposed to be ready each morning. We shop on Sunday mornings and it seems to be ready later and later in the day. Especially since I asked for a certain kind. It used to be available before 9am, but now isn't even ready by 10am.
We're also not sure why the Oldtown store doesn't carry bulk quinoa. Luckily, I work in Ponderay and can stop by the Sandpoint store to pick some up.
Additionally, missing from the Oldtown store: 4 blend shredded cheese. They might get a box or two in about once a month, which means 3 weeks out of 4 there is none available. I have to shop at a competition market for it, and I also have to pick up our shredded pepper jack while there as that is never available...
