Been staying here for 10plus years. Every year there is another hurdle or something new to deal with. This year my mind is blown. YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PARK AT CAMP WATER COLOR AND BEACH CLUB. I am paying to stay here and use these things. That’s why I pay amenity fees when I book. If your HOA leaders are just so damn rich that they don’t want people to stay here then just don’t allow renting at all. Don’t make it a pain for those renting. Which do by the way cover almost all the cost of this resort style development. It just blows my mind that I can pay $10-$25,000 to rent a house here for a week with a golf cart and drive it over to the pool that’s in the community and then have to pay to park it. That’s insane and stupid. And shame on the HOA for making people with golf cart full of kids and family having to stop scan a stupid sign and pay to park a freaking golf cart before entering a pool that they will rack up a 250-600 tab at ordering food and drinks. After paying 8,000-35,000 a...
Read moreAfter renting summer homes here for more than 10 years and giving second chances for the last couple of years, I am done. The new rules and inconsistencies make the vacation everything but relaxing. Waking up to get to the beach before 8 to try and get overpriced beach chairs on the 3rd row, getting yelled at because my then 4 year old didn’t have a wrist band (only required for 5+), God forbid you have a food allergy and take a cooler to the pool on your way to the beach or camp watercolor (they will remove it or you have to leave, but they’ll sell you overpriced food), there are towels then there aren’t towels (beach and camp Watercolor). Last year there were towels at both, this year just the beach club and you better have your wrist band and the people wanting towels because you may go to Watercolor jail. The parking is a nightmare. You too can pay $10,000+ for a week and have the same experience!! The only thing I love is the tennis and how comfortable my kids are from...
Read moreThe Watercolor Community is amazing and has fantastic amenities. Unfortunately, the HOA isn't there to serve the community but instead to harass the homeowners. They're happy to charge high fees to the homeowners but clearly don't feel the need to provide service.
In particular, working with Andrew who is responsible for the Design Review Board is a waste of time. There is no common sense to his approach and from all indication, he actively discriminates against certain home owners.
I still love the community but there needs to be some real change at...
