Buyer beware.
0/5 Stars - Absolute nightmare.
Prices listed on the website are intentionally misleading. Once you confirm your booking, Event Rentals will take advantage of you by hiking the prices with arbitrary, hidden fees, knowing you are without options or backups, and under immense stress preparing for your wedding.
We were partial to their prices, until two weeks before our wedding when we began receiving emails regarding their mysterious fee structures. The most absurd being for our Chuppah. On their website it’s listed for $625. Moving closer to our wedding date, the price was hiked to $75-$100 for on-sand setup. That we could understand, but the most absurd charge came for an additional $200 late night pickup fee because any item picked up after 5PM is considered late night. They did not communicate any of this information with us until a few days before our contract was to be signed. Leaving us without any options.
During setup on the day of our wedding, the owner of Event Rentals was incredibly aggressive, unpleasant, and rude. Stating he couldn’t get ahold of my husband all week. When he read back his number to me - he had the wrong number. Somehow made that our fault, even though we’d been in communication with his staff all week.
When he later returned at 4:30-4:40 PM to pick up the Chuppah - earlier than the initial pickup time - he started yelling at my husband because our vendor moved the Chuppah, and in the process, a piece of it was broken. This all transpired 15 minutes after my husband and I walked down the aisle! We were In the middle of taking photos with our family. While we were unaware of the broken piece or that the Chuppah was moved, and later equally upset that any of it happened - there is a time and a place. As stated in the previous review with my husband, if we were bound by contract for the damages, why rage on a customer on his wedding day?
Moving forward. We were informed it would be $350 to replace the part. All Event Rentals agreed to work with our planning company to cover the expenses. My husband asked him to not charge our card until they reached an amicable agreement with the vendors responsible for the damage. Guess what happened next? They tried calling our vendors over a 24 to 48 hours period after our last conversation. When they did not immediately answer, they charged our card. Somehow a mysterious $25 was tacked onto that charge.
All Event Rentals can respond and explain its behavior all it’s wants, but fundamentally, you’re an unethical and unpleasant business. Nothing you can say justifies fighting with a customer on his wedding day. You do not belong in this business if you think that’s acceptable behavior.
We enjoyed working Agatha and Michelle, both were kind, and responsive. But in the end, the owner has final say - your wedding deserves better energy than his unethical and unpleasant...
Read moreWorking with them before the event was great. My wife and mother in law changed their minds several times (as is usual for a wedding) and they were accommodating. We were having our wedding on the beach in Siesta Key and they were aware. On the day of the wedding they called and said they were ten minutes away and somebody needed to get there. That sounds good except that they had given us a 2 hour time window the night before for their arrival. We made sure that somebody was there to meet them and I showed up two minutes later. When they started setting up we told them the chairs and tables needed to go out onto the beach and they said, "That idea is stupid." To have a company call your wedding idea stupid is unacceptable. One guy that was bringing the chairs out to the beach said it was "ridiculous."
The arch. Oh God the arch. So the guy setting up the arch tells me he needs an exact spot where the arch is going to go. Fine. I ask if he can wait less than five minutes for my mother in law to show up since she did all of the wedding planning. Nope! He goes on an on about how waiting five minutes would delay every other event they had to set up. FIVE MINUTES. I pleaded with him and pointed out that if the arch was in the wrong spot I would have to hear about it for the rest of my life. The guy flat out told me it didn't matter and kept talking about the other events. What about this event?? Then he set the arch up crooked and gave me attitude when I pointed it out. I wasn't being picky. It was facing the wrong direction. So he fixed it. Yup, still crooked. Keep in mind it is staked into the beach so it isn't something we could easily fix.
The pick up. Our permit was good until 8PM and all of the stuff needed to be off the beach by then. They told us they would be there by 7 SHARP to get the tables and chairs. Well, as 8 rolls around and we're getting yelled at by county officials on quads on the beach, they showed up to start taking the tables and chairs. The people that showed up were different than the people that set up and I have to say they worked their butts off trying to get the stuff off the beach in a hurry.
All in all, it made an already stressful day more stressful. They called our year long planned idea stupid and ridiculous, couldn't get the arch right, gave me attitude when I asked them to pause on the arch for five minutes, and arrived late to pick up the equipment which basically held us hostage on the beach. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Stay away. There are...
Read moreDo not use this company they are not practicing safety during Covid !!!!!!! This company showed up on lido beach public beach off the side of Lido beach resort side today with a crew of 3 to set up a tent, we had been there for at least 2 hours with chairs and umbrellas- they deliberately set a tent on top of our family space literally on top of us with poles chairs etc - there was plenty other open spaces on the beach but they said they were directed to set up in that spot which is over encroaching our family space - they hammered away on top of our chairs and our umbrella which we ended having to move - they were not wearing any masks even due to the mandate and they were not 6 ft away from our family at all when I complained to the crew they said the “lady” who order it - who was no where to found ordered It and directed them to place this tent in this location- very unprofessional and completely inappropriate considering the times with Covid 19 right now - it would of been courtesy for them to tell us to move up a little or let us know they would be building on top of us - if anyone one of us get Covid we will be calling your company so you can SHUT DOWN - cause your employees were breathing sweating all over us not wearing...
