Hilldale Golf Club — Local services in Schaumburg Township

We had a 3:30 tee time. At 3:33, the starter came up and made a comment “I see you have some beginners, I have 36 golfers behind you”. We were almost to the green of the first hole when he said this. There was one foursome in line and again, our tee time had begun 3 minutes ago. There was nobody else in line so I’m not sure who the other 32 golfers were that he claimed were behind us. There was a ranger who seemed to be following us and watching most of the time, urging us to go faster. I did not appreciate this and it really ruined the day. The front desk girl was also extremely rude and clearly did not want to give anyone the time of day. Asking her where the restroom was was apparently bothering her so we went and found it ourselves. Will definitely not be back and this is not the place to go if you are not a “good” golfer. The rangers...

Love this course. I've been coming here for almost 10 years. TEN MINUTE tee times. Most courses like Highland woods have times of 8 min, 7 min. That's 8 GROUPS in 1 hour!!. At Hilldale, it's only 6 groups per hour. EVEN on a Sunday, your round shouldn't take more than 4 1/2 hours. If the pace is slow, you call the proshop and they send a ranger right away. Yea, this course still has rangers, other courses don't want to pay for a ranger. They also have a guy under a tent at the beginning of the 10th hole. He has beers and brats and hotdogs and italian sausage and snacks. Sometimes they have a beer cart girl but I load up at the bar before I start and again when I make the turn. The Greens here are ALWAYS consistent. If it's rolling at an 8 or 9 stimpmeter on the 1st hole, it's the same on all...

pace of play is miserable with this stacked of tee times. Last month I came here for a twilight round and it took almost 2 hours and 45 mins to get through 9 because of the absolute train of inexperienced golfers in front of us shanking the ball 20 feet at a time up the fairway. I seriously wish I was exaggerating at 20 feet.

Got so frustrated I just left. Legitimately think 18 holes here would have taken close to 5 and a half hours or more that day which is absolutely insane considering some of the reviews here saying there was pace of play pressure.

It's a shame because this is a really fun course with an interesting layout. Had fond memories of this place but I think it's time to pass on it until they make...
