We shop here when we have to because it’s the closest grocery store to our home. It’s a shame that the quality of the food here is so bad because the location is convenient for us.
One one occasion we purchased about a dozen peaches from here and they all had worms inside (no visible entry points or signs of spoilage on the outside of the peaches). All of their produce seems to be poor quality and very low selection.
On another occasion I purchased a premade pretzel bun sandwich that looked delicious. The meat and cheese was almost flavorless and the bun was completely soggy.
On another occasion I purchased a cookies and cream fudge. It had a bad aftertaste and didn’t taste like fudge at all. It tasted like it was made using synthetic ingredients. The whole bakery section seems to be low quality products.
The product brands that this store carries all seem to be very low quality and many just taste bad.
In addition, this is the most expensive grocery store I have seen since we moved to PA. Even more expensive than wegmanns which is known for its high quality and top notch brands.
Looking at all the 5 star reviews on here and the way they are written my assumption is that many if not most of them are karns employees who are encouraged to give a 5 star review to each karma foods location in order to bring up the google...
Read moreKarns produce section in the Carlisle store is impeccable. Whenever I’m walking into the area to get the delicious honey crisp apples or the many other produce my family loves, we always notice how perfectly in order everything is. From the arrangements of the fruit to the cleanliness of the entire produce section there is no other grocery store that compares to the one at Karns in Carlisle. It’s always incredibly clean and perfectly neat! Everything we need is always easy to find. Even the pre-packaged bags that don’t necessarily need to be in any certain order are always all facing the same way and perfectly aligned. You can definitely tell whoever is in charge of the produce department spends a lot of time and energy on making it stand out among the competition. I made sure to tell my friends and family about it and now they all make sure to get their produce at Karns In Carlsile. I have never had any rotten fruit or moldy fruit like some stores periodically sell. Ive shopped at 3 different Karns and I believe the Carlisle store should be the leading example of how the produce department should look in any grocery store. From the prices to the quality Karns produce section in Carlisle...
Read moreI had issues with the fresh farm milk that this store offered. My kids like it so I started getting my grocery's at the store as well. When I went to get milk a couple of weeks ago the clerk did not double bag it and when I carried it to my car it broke open over my feet and onto the parking lot. I went back in side and they had me get another milk and a very nice young man cleanup the glass. But when I got home two days later the milk was spoiled. I looked on the cap and it was two days old when I purchased it so that is why it was spoiled. I called the store and she put my name in a book for a FREE milk. I sent my son to the store today to get the FREE milk with the return jug and they quickly sent him to the register where they had him pay $2 dollars and change...FREE MY A**. I am very frustrated with this milk thing....It has put a sour taste in my mouth and I will not be returning...
