Great items, great prices, but highly rude staff. Went there for a few items with some friends from out of town. At checkout, the guy was clearly new and that was fine. He helped us out, but struggled to ring up a discounted candy. The guy looked at his coworker, who rudely addressed him and the situation. They were busy, but the poor kid was clearly new. After, several minutes waiting for him to find the code, my friend told him not to worry about it. He finally found it, rang us up, and we left. Same friend looked closer at the receipt as we left and realized, in his stressful attempt to ring up this candy, the cashier overcharged us over $15 for a 50 cent bag of candy. We went right back in and went right to this cashier again. He had to call over the coworker again to help get us a refund and she dressed him down terribly in front of the customers, berating him for screwing up that bad and holding up the massive line of customers. This kid was clearly trying to do his best, but the other coworker was beyond rude and disrespectful to him over an honest mistake. I think it's going to be a long time before I go back to Ollie's, if at all. That lady deserves...
Read moreAmazed at the revamp they are doing to the store. Especially things like towels sheets blankets comforters they already have that all organized you think you're in a regular department store there in that section. Much easier to look at items. Always love the discounts and savings here. Got a lot of our snack foods here much cheaper than the grocery store. And I love that if you're always member every time you hit a certain dollar amount they send you a discount card so I use my 10% off my total order discount card today. Even for pets this store was already out of the blue buffalo for kitties but I was able to get some at the Hazleton store. Lots of Blue Buffalo for dogs the 30 lb bags for 40 bucks. I got packs of beautiful 100% cotton dish towels by Pioneer Womana 4 pack for $5. They had a whole bunch of 28 Oz small body washes in some wonderful sense for a $1.99 each. Some other sections of the store are already being organized. It's going to be a lot easier to shop here when...
Read moreI visit Ollie's stores in Lansdale , Quakertown , and Horsham as well . Of all of them this store in Scranton is the absolute WORST . Merchandise is poorly placed , shelves frequently disorganized . And often merchandise (especially in the clothing area) is simply strewn all over the floor . Restroom for men is rarely pleasant to use . Overall I would be compelled to say facility management is obviously all but non existent . Myself having served as a retail manager in the past feel qualified to comment . This store needs a manager that actually gives a damn about the facility . Because whenever I visit this store this store it is just the classic hovel .And as others have stated pricing in this particular location should be closely monitored . Some items actually are priced above local non...
