We mostly take out from Oishi since their dine in option was unavailable during the pandemic. They recently reopened their dine in service. We are thoroughly impressed by the wide array of Japanese cuisine on offer. The menu boasts a fantastic selection of dishes that cater to various tastes and preferences, but our absolute favorites are the shrimp teriyaki and steak teriyaki bento boxes.
The shrimp teriyaki was perfectly cooked, with a delightful combination of tender shrimp and a savory, slightly sweet teriyaki glaze that complemented the flavors beautifully. The steak teriyaki was equally impressive, featuring succulent, juicy pieces of steak, cooked to perfection and drenched in a rich, flavorful teriyaki sauce.
Each bento box was thoughtfully arranged, including rice, fresh salad, and a variety of sides that made for a well-rounded and satisfying meal. The portions were generous, and the presentation was both appealing and appetizing.
The staff are attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.
Overall, Oishi is a must-visit for anyone who loves Japanese food. The variety, quality, and flavors of their dishes, especially the teriyaki bento boxes, make it a standout dining option. We can't wait to try more from their extensive menu!

Read moreThis hidden gem has become the one place I always try to visit when I return home to Scranton. And post-pandemic, I must say that it has somehow gotten even better. The menu still offers a fantastic and impressive variety, though I typically get a bento box for lunch. On my most recent visit, I had the hibachi vegetables, the edamame, and the spicy crab roll (in addition to the salad, rice, and miso soup that come with each box -- great value). All items were prepared with care, cooked perfectly, and presented nicely. More importantly, each item was delicious. The owners are super friendly and dedicated to providing great customer service. I highly recommend this place for quality Japanese food. Whether you are in the mood for hibachi, teriyaki, or sushi, this place has...
Read moreOrdered chicken hibachi to go. I was not very impressed. The chicken was very dry, some pieces were discolored and hard. The noodles were a soggy mush. The rice was cooked half a$$ed with almost no flavor. The only decent thing was a salad of roughly broken lettuce and ginger dressing. There was also a lake in the bottom of the tray which I had to drain out. The first time I ordered from this place, everything was amazing. Just imagine my disappointment when recieving that disgrace after having a good experience the first time. The take out hibachi is either frozen and reheated or the owners really don't care about quality and...
