We visited Groovy Girlz in Sea Isle yesterday with high hopes. My daughters were excited to meet Rapunzel, get their faces painted, and enjoy the experience. Everything started off well, and the staff interacting with the kids were great. Unfortunately, what followed completely soured the visit.
Before going inside, we placed a few beach items on the edge of a flower bed that was mostly mulch — nothing was touching any flowers or blocking the sidewalk. We were careful and respectful with where we placed our things. A short while later, the store manager approached my wife and mother-in-law and told them — rather abruptly — that the items needed to be moved because “the condo association was having a fit.” While the message itself was understandable, the delivery felt unnecessarily rude. Still, we didn’t push back and immediately went out to remove everything, again making sure to disturb nothing.
Just as my wife returned to the store to make a purchase and my mother-in-law was checking out (spending close to $100), a bald man came out from the back and whispered something to the manager. The manager then continued to make us feel uncomfortable and guilty, even though we had already complied. As we were getting ready to leave, a man we assume was the condo manager made sarcastic, passive-aggressive remarks right in front of us, which only added to the awkwardness.
Bottom line — we followed their request without hesitation, yet were treated as if we were a problem. For a business in a tourist town that relies heavily on positive customer experiences, this was a disappointing and frankly embarrassing encounter. We expected better hospitality, especially while spending money and supporting a local business.
I told them directly, and I’ll say it here: we won’t be back. Neither will our friends or family who visit annually. Others may still shop there, but any business that overlooks how it treats even a single customer is setting itself up for...
Read moreI went to Groovy Girlz to get some hair tinsel, and let me tell you, stepping into that store was like entering a delightful fairy tale! The place was so cute and organized that even the dust bunnies were probably on a tidy schedule. Gab, my hair stylist, was a total pro. She helped me pick a color that matched my hair perfectly—like finding the last cookie in the jar but without the guilt!
Her touch was so gentle that I had to check if she was actually doing my hair or just giving it a nice pep talk. And the tinsel? It turned out so adorable that even my reflection in the mirror did a little happy dance. Plus, it’s holding up like a champ through washing, brushing, and drying—talk about some serious staying power!
Colleen, the shop owner, was as sweet as a cupcake, and I felt so welcomed that if they had offered me a cup of tea, I might have settled in for the afternoon! So if you want your hair to shine brighter than a disco ball and your spirits to be lifted, Groovy Girlz is the place to go! I can’t wait to return—next time, I might even bring a friend for some...
Read moreI am deeply disappointed with the way i was treated in this store. I have never felt more uncomfortable leaving a store in my life. I walk in and i see this beautiful pink dress and i decide to try it on. The lady in the store offered to help me zip the dress up, which by the way she acted while zipping it up it sounded as if she was bending the laws of gravity to get it to zip. Me and my friend decided that we would just go ahead and purchase that size and as we were leaving the lady says “don’t try coming back to return that dress if the zipper breaks” which made me extremely uncomfortable and insecure. I hope that this lady doesn’t make any other girls feel unwelcome or...
