I am a 50 year old professional who has been going to Sea Isle for years with my family. Its great warm family atmosphere will keep me coming back for many more. As much as I love Sea Isle, I absolutely despise Ocean Drive. They just added a sandbar, so we thought we would give them another try. Standing in the short line, I knew things hadnât changed. I watched as the staff harassed a pregnant women on crutches because she had the audacity to ask to use the handicapped entry to the sandbar. They stared her in the face and told her one didnât exist. A short glance around the corner revealed a huge gate with a handicap sign on it giving direct access to the sandbar. They continued to harass the woman and her husband as they pleaded with them to use the entry. They refused, accusing them of being rude. I was astonished as I watched the most rude people I have ever seen in Sea Isle calling others rude. I would have immediately crossed the street to La Costa, had I not been meeting people in the bar. However, I paid my 5 dollar cover, and followed the pregnant woman and her husband as they navigated through the dark, loud crowded dance floor to the sandbar. I gathered my family members and left. As I was leaving, I asked for the manager. I told him the story. He looked me in the eyes and told me that âI wasnât even thereâ, like he was capable of performing Jedi mind tricks. Me, my very large family and every single person that will listen to me will never ever step foot in this...
Read moreMy boyfriend has been waiting a whole year to come back down and get a soft shell crab sand which. Needless to say we are severely disappointed at the service. We arrived at about opening time and our seats were already covered in sand. When our food came out we were confused because they brought us a crab cake sand which, which we did not order. When we brought this to our waitresses attention she just said, âwell this is all we have, I can get you something elseâ. I decided to take a minute to try it instead of sending back the food to get thrown away. She had no comment when I said I wish you would have told us that before we ordered it. My boyfriend is too easy going to complain and wait for something else since we just wanted to leave at this point. Nothing was even taken off our bill, the food was mediocre at best and overpriced. He did not even eat his sand which. The fact you have to pay extra if you want fries and it doesnât come with any sides is comical. Tried this place for the second year in a row and we will not be coming back. Should have payed more attention to...
Read moreOcean Driveâs outdoor bar & restaurant space is nice, but pretty small in size. We got there early around 3:00pm and were seated right away. We went for the drinks & appetizers with the intention of going inside for live music.
The Bavarian pretzel & cheesesteak eggs rolls were absolutely delicious (pay the extra 1.50 for the cheese), but the nachos were just okay. The Dirty Banana was awful - it was watery & had an overwhelming taste of banana liquor. The Mango Turbo was 10/10, refreshing and had some zing to it! They had fair prices on food & drinks which I appreciated.
Our waitress was a disaster. She was kind and decently attentive, but lacked any knowledge of the happenings of OD or drinks they could makeâŚshe wasnât sure if they could make a rum punch? A basic drink.
Now the inside bar is more like a club. There is no food served. It is completely dark and dingy. Worst of all it is CASH ONLY. Thatâs a travesty in the...
