thankful I ended up at this establishment to get my hair done! I had been putting off getting a haircut for months because I was new to the area and scared to let someone new cut my hair. I picked Shanghai because it is close to where I live and has great reviews. when I went into the shop I was nervous because I didn’t realize they were a cash only establishment. they were so kind and let me figure out that situation and even run to get cash after my appointment was done. the woman (one of the owners I believe) who cut my hair was so nice, she asked me questions and made me feel totally comfortable. she asked about how much I wanted to cut and gave me tons of tips for better care of my hair. when we finished I was so happy with the cut and styling. my hair looks and feels great! I will be back soon and won’t hesitate to get my hair done anymore!...

Alan and Julie have to be two of the nicest and best hair stylists I have ever had the pleasure to meet. After the first time, they knew me by name, and Alan even spoke to me in Spanish because he's learning and knows multiple other languages already! A wonderful part of the Alaska Junction community, they have both given me the best haircuts I have ever had. My hair is NOT easy to cut due to its thickness and odd crown, yet they always make it look great and I feel like a million bucks walking out of the shop every time. They take cash only but it's worth it since they have much cheaper prices than any other high end salon in the city. After making my little brother try it out he now drives from Mill Creek JUST to get his hair cut here. I will be coming here for as long as I live in...

I'm surprised at the other reviews. Came in for a trim, the stylist had a really tough time figuring out how to get an even cut on the straight hair (took her over an hour) and cut off about four inches more than we initially discussed because she kept trying to fix her work. Flat-ironed my hair (which I didn't want) with no product to protect the hair from the heat. She didn't even condition it during the wash. My scalp itched for days after because of the rough combing done over and over as the stylist tried to figure out how to cut the hair even on both sides. The cut turned out super strangely too.
