Pink Pelican Florist — Local services in Sebastian

My husband and I got married in Vero Beach, FL in May. Being from Chicago, this was a destination wedding. We had a very small and intimate wedding and to be honest, flowers were not high on our list as they don’t last and we would rather spend extra money on entertaining our traveling guests. Pink Pelican was the 1st florist I spoke with and though I was taken aback by her intimidating and almost rude email stating that I will not find a better florist for the price and quality; that their reputation speaks for its self and I will be lucky to find a florist to do our small order (3 bouquets, 4 boutonnieres, and 2 corsages) the week of Mother’s day, we decided to work with them as there were no bad reviews and prices were comparable with other florists. Jill was pleasant over the phone in making final arrangements and a few months later when we met her to confirm the order in which she took extensive notes. On the big day, we came to realize (while I was putting the corsage on my Mom 10 minutes before the ceremony) that the entire order was incorrect. The orchids in the boutonnieres and corsages that I had ordered were replaced with mini roses and the ribbon on my bouquet was wrong, as was the bridesmaids which had teal ribbon when I had specifically asked for white. I emailed Jill when returned home to let her know that order was wrong and not expecting anything in return, just thought it would only be fair to let her know since they speak so highly of themselves and their reputation. She apologized and wanted to make it right so my husband called her at her request where she apologized again over and over, stating she got another customers notes mixed up with ours, AND ready for this – she knew that she wasn’t able to get the orchids and purposely didn’t tell me because she said that she finds telling brides before the wedding that their requested flowers are not available only causes more problems so she waits to explain until after the wedding. I don’t know who she has worked with in the past but I value honesty and trust and would have been fine if the orchids were unavailable if I had been given the option to pick something else. Instead I get mini roses – I really hate roses… Anyhow, she offered a partial refund to make up for it. Now almost a month later - no refund. My husband called her back and she had the audacity to argue with him saying my bridesmaids saw them and approved (they don’t know what I ordered), then said I said they were fine (I did not see them), then said she had a death in the family (I understand sincerely as we did too the day we returned home from our honeymoon), and offered excuse after excuse. I don’t want excuses, I paid for something I did not receive and was OFFERED a refund, and didn’t get that either. The conversation ended with Jill basically telling my husband that we are cheap (we paid her $700) and it’s not her problem that we couldn’t afford our f’n wedding and hung up on him. I have never worked with anyone that spoke so highly of their reputation, quality and 23 years in business for them to work in such an unethical and crude manner. I don’t expect anything at this point from Pink Pelican, the disappointment is enough, but I relied on reviews for my planning and hope to help any future destination brides with the insights of our experience with...

Where do I begin? Pink Pelican Florist absolutely made my daughter’s dreams for her wedding come true! Jill is incredibly talented! She magically transformed our color scheme and vision into the most stunning arrangements we have ever seen, and added her touch and artistic talent to everything… from the décor of the church and venue, to every little detail in between… she took our ideas and brought them to life in a way that totally exceeded our expectations! Family and friends are still commenting on how gorgeous the flowers were! Jill was so wonderful to work with, her calm demeanor and expertise left us feeling confident that things would run smoothly, and they were flawless! Throughout the wedding weekend she and her team coordinated with the rehearsal dinner site, church and venue… working behind the scenes to move arrangements from one event to the other, creatively repurposing flowers in all three places and leaving us to enjoy the events in the most beautiful surroundings we could ever have imagined. Pink Pelican went truly above and beyond with our wedding florals and decor; everything was absolutely breathtaking and really made our wedding shine. Planning a wedding from out of town can be stressful, but I had such peace of mind after our initial consultation and knew we were in good hands; Jill is so kind, professional, and easy to work with, and with the help of her amazing team, truly a master of her work! I sent her about a dozen or more random "inspiration" pictures that were kind of all over the place, but she was able to tie together all of the details I loved in a way that flowed so perfectly. The work she and her team did for our wedding was more than I could have dreamed of, and we received so many compliments on how beautiful everything looked.
