I started going to the Red Apple when Rick and Sara Fowler owned it. Their customer service was unrivaled, pricing was accurate. There was NO waiting in line at all, if there was a question, the owners were right there. They knew my name, and they were home-town people from Selah to boot. The other store , Save On Foods, (now out-of-business) had become a joke with long, slow lines, sloppy pricing, inattentive and at times rude check out people, high prices and poor quality. Now that Wrays bought the Red Apple, It's become just like Save on Foods was. So I finally quit going. Walmart, Target, Yakimex, Safeway, Bi-mart, and Fred Meyer are all within roughly 5 minutes driving time from the Selah Red Apple and prices are roughly 25% less overall. Pricing in those stores is accurate and the checkers don't habitually make mistakes. High employee turnover, poor employee attitude, a poor manager, and a gradually more and more empty parking lot indicate some serious internal problems in the Wray's Selah family. The Grocery Outlet store is coming to Selah, and I think that if the Wray's Selah crew doesn't ramp up their game quite a bit, they're probably going to get run out of business. So, bottom line: Neither I nor my family (my wife complains about poor service and rude cashiers compared to before) will go to Wray's in Selah again for any consideration until it gets waaaay better that what it is now. High prices coupled with poor management is a recipe...
Read moreI really enjoy the good customer service (90% of the time) what I really hate is them not marking their prices consistently. I like to know what I’m paying for an item. The other thing that is really annoying is going in there to buy an item that is on sale and it not being available (this happens more often than not) it immediately makes me think of bait and switch don’t stock the sale item so an individual has to buy the higher price item. I think because right now they have a monopoly in selah they think they can get away with this nonsense but what they aren’t taking into consideration is that when grocery outlet opens people are going to remember all the bs and wrays is going to go down the path of red apple just stopping in if you need a...
Read moreSince we were in Selah, we decided to stop at Wray's Selah store to get something for dinner. We have been having a lot of salads for dinner in this hot weather. It was perfect because Wray's is having a good produce sale. The cucumbers, Roma tomatoes and radishes all tasted like they were just picked. Added to our salad mix, we had a really good dinner! We can co.unt on Wray's to have fresh produce. As long as it is grown in the United States we will...
