Updated Review – Safety Negligence & Failed Repairs DANGEROUS UPDATE – SCREENS GOING COMPLELTY BLACK WHILE DRIVING! Ongoing Safety Failures, False Assurances, and Refusal to Fix the Problem
I purchased a brand-new Mercedes-Benz from Mercedes-Benz of Selma expecting a safe, reliable, luxury vehicle. Instead, I’ve experienced repeated safety-related failures, dismissive treatment, and deceptive responses from both the dealership and management.
Here’s what has happened (so far in first 3 months):
Seat Belt Safety Failure: From the start, the seat belt did not properly secure or tighten. The dealership brushed this off as a “trim issue,” insisting it was safe. This was never just cosmetic, a seat belt that doesn’t function properly is a safety hazard.
Door panels not secured on passenger side door, dismissed as not serious.
Infotainment/Screen Malfunction – Failed Repair: TWICE IN 2 WEEKS! The central screens and electronics failed WHILE DRIVING WITH KIDS. On the first visit, the dealership returned the car to us claiming it was fixed, it wasn’t. The problem returned almost immediately, meaning we were driving a brand-new car with defective safety and control systems.
Sent Out in Unsafe Condition: At least twice, this dealership returned the vehicle to us without properly fixing serious issues. This is not just bad service ,it’s dangerous.
Deceptive Resolution Offer: When pressed for a buyback, they agreed only to refund the original purchase price if we spent more money on another vehicle from them. This is not a resolution — it’s an upsell disguised as a fix.
After multiple attempts to resolve these issues, including working with Mercedes-Benz USA, the dealership continues to minimize safety concerns and refuses a fair resolution. I have now filed both a Texas Lemon Law complaint and a Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act demand against them.
If you value safety, honesty, and proper customer care, avoid Mercedes-Benz of Selma. I would never have expected this kind of behavior from a luxury...
Read moreI have to start off by saying the experience at this dealership was phenomenal! I originally went in to acquire about a GLA250 which seem to be very hard to find currently. They had 1 on stock so I figured why not take a look. I was put in touch with Jimmy who immediately sent his business card and said the car would be ready when we arrived. Upon arrival my husband and I looked at the vehicle. It has everything I could want but I wasn't in love with it. That being said we took some time to look around at other models which led us to finding the GLC300 that is pictured below. The model had so much and the exact interior/exterior I was looking for! Jimmy was so helpful in this process when it came to comparing the vehicles since we were first time buyers. We then sat down and worked some numbers since we had a trade in and came to a deal! It was a super smooth process and honestly the best car dealership experience I've ever had. We had some downtime in between paperwork which caused my husband to start looking around. He spotted the car below that's pictured and fell in love with it. Jimmy took note of his interest and finished working our deal. I told my husband to sleep on it and see where he was tomorrow on a decision. Well, 9am came and he was dead set on purchasing that car! My husband immediately texted Jimmy who then told us to come so we could begin working that trade/numbers. Never in my life have I purchased a brand new vehicle let alone a luxury one but we did it back to back without any issues from the dealership! Both deals were smooth and quick, Jimmy even had both cars cleaned and filled up for us. We now have a Mercedes connection for life and will be returning customers! Mercedes-Benz of Selma clearly demonstrates a commitment to putting its customers first, a commitment supported by their professionalism, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service.
