Lin’s International Buffet — Restaurant in Selma

I almost NEVER give a one star review. In every sense of the word this place was an absolute disgrace and has the audacity to call themselves a buffet. First of all the wait staff did something that my mother (whom I had ate lunch there with) pointed out that is illegal in most places and against health code violations. My mother and I have both been servers for several jobs, customer service runs in our veins. Not only was the wait stuff just rude/unfriendly and laughing/shooting me and my mother dirty looks every time we would walk by or sit down to eat. Our server never smiled once and I went out of my way to smile, be polite, bus our table and neatly stack our plates. I even tipped the guy 20% even though he absolutely did not even deserve a tip (because that's a show of my moral character not his). The wait staff were also sitting down eating outside food they had brought in from home or wherever. They were laughing and you can obviously tell mocking/gossiping about their customers loudly whilst having poor table manners/etiquette. It was an absolutely revolting sight. Now onto cleanliness and food itself. The cleanliness of the place seemed meh like a 3/5 stars at most. All of the food.... and not even kidding when I say ALL of the food I tried..... with one exception (the dumpling that LITERALLY were the only fresh thing there).....was absolutely inedible vile swill I wouldn't serve to a starving child. None of the food was flavored.....its like they threw their spices out. No salt, pepper I couldn't even taste the garlic or onions in my rice. Half the food wasn't labeled and I ate fish by mistake (I hate seafood). I was willing to try other fish and stuff and was excited to be trying new things. That is why this place was such a massive let down. We had heard of this place and people had talked it up. I guess anyone who has no sense of taste or smell might like this trash heap of a buffet. No this review isn't harsh or unfair, places like this literally exist all over. Sometimes you just arrive at the wrong time and bad things like this happen. No absolutely not this time.....just a disgrace to the food industry... And we would know.... my mother revolutionized the food services of the air force for 20 years. I cook often and have been cooking mostly asian culinary dishes. EVEN I COULD COOK BETTER WITH ONLY 1 OR 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE THAN WHAT WAS SERVED HERE. Disgusting. Don't waste your money... $40 dollars for two adults? OH AND THATS INCLUDING MILITAIRY DISCOUNT! and my 20% tip too. I almost spent $50 on a place where I tried every chicken item on the menu as well as just about everything else till it made me sick. Oh and yes I confirmed.... I HAVE FOOD POISONING AS WELL AS MY MOTHER THANKS TO THIS PLACE....

I don’t even know where to start. When we arrived to the front desk the people were nice, we got to our table but as you’re walking there you see the floors we’re extremely dirty but you can only expect so much from a buffet and I’m sure people spill things. One of main problems was that when we received our drinks one of the drinks had a bug in it ( as you can see in the pictures ) after asking we got another drink pretty quickly. But even than we were afraid to even drink out of the cups. We were later told we’d get a new waitress. Well this new waitress wasn’t nice and seemed pretty bothered about everything, I understand when you work long days and you just want to get home but the attitude she had was just unprofessional and also by what we were told from our previous waitress she just got there... are you serious? You just got there and you’re already acting bothered. When we had asked her if we could get a water bottle instead she said no we had to pay for it…um what? There was a bug in our drink the least you could do was provide a water bottle with the prices we paid for the buffet and the service y’all gave, after going back and forth about how there was a bug in our water, she rolled her eyes and said okay and walked away. We thankfully got our water bottle. ( one to be exact, we just one for our friend because she had the bug in her drink ) Now onto the food, the food was okay nothing to amazing but the wings specifically were cold, some of the seafood seemed like it was sitting there for hours, the food by the cooks in corner seemed dried up, and the dessert was dry and bland. I've tried this place 3x's now, each time it actually seems to get worst. The food is just ok, for the high price's. Its just not worth the price to me. Not when you can go fine dining for the prices you pay here for food that really isn't great.

This last time I came for my birthday, by the way you have to pay for 2 adult buffets to get your birthday dinner free. Why bother giving a free birthday dinner everywhere else is free with any adult purchase. But that didn't really bother me because my daughter (10yr.s old) wanted to eat here. I want to love it, its just not worth the hype to me though, for ok food.

They lady told me sorry, Happy Birthday, I'll give you a discount, it equaled $2 savings. I thought that was nice. Since they couldn't give me my free birthday dinner though 2 years ago we came with my daughter & I got it. So I go to sit down and look at the receipt and noticed, ya she gave me that 10% a $2 discount but she charged me adult price for my daughter (10 yr.s old) full price adult price to give me that $2 discount. Needless to say I was mad. The waitress saw I was up set and took my receipt to them to try and get it fixed. She agreed I was over charged. They just said prices changed They've gone up. So I look up on the website and it said for 10 yr.s old price for that day was $6.99. Instead I was charged adult price of $15.99.

I will say the waitress was awesome, she got them to come out & sing me Happy Birthday and brought me cake out. That was sweet! But can't help but think because they knew I was mad about being over priced & refused to do anything about it. PS Pic.s are...
