I have been trying to get a credit that I have had since the store was in Easley. I have called, gone to the store, emailed, sent photos at request of Shipleys. Facts: I bought an Italian leather sofa and love seat set. At the same time, I bought a small round side table. I have no complaint about the quality of any furniture I have purchased at the store. The love seat was just too big for the room. Mr. Shipley said he would have to come to our home and check to make sure there was no damage to the love seat before he would accept it back and give us a 1,500.00 credit. The full price was 3,200.00. He said if we paid cash for the initial purchase, he would not charge sales tax. I went to the bank and got 3200.00. He told us he had once lived in our subdivision, 3 houses up from us on the right. He brought 2 delivery guys and a truck. He inspected the love seat and they took the love seat with them, charging us a 75,00 fee for the pick up plus we gave each deliver man an extra 20.00. He also brought us a replacement plug for the sofa and we paid 75.00 for it. Our new puppy had chewed it in two. I have been more than patient. When I went to use my credit at the Easley Store, I was told they had moved the store to Seneca. I called the Seneca store and was told I would need to speak to David (I think this was his name.) I spoke with a female, and I have sent photos of the sofa, at her request, on two different occasions. I was assured this would be taken care of. I have not heard back from anyone. This is getting ridiculous. I am in the process of getting this escalated to BBB/attorney simply because I cannot get a response. I would like to say that the initial salesperson (an older gentleman) was a very sweet person. His wife was ill at the time and we prayed for her together. Please, I warn you, do not get a credit for anything. It is doubtful you will ever see your money again. The photo attached is the sofa. It is beautiful and very well made but it is VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. It has been used no more than 15 times and that was by visitors to our home. If anyone knows his I could get this resolved, please...
Read moreI had passed this furniture store many times and was excited to finally go in. The salesman greeted me and I told him I was looking to furnish an Air BnB. I said the pricing was a bit steep for what I needed. He became rude and arrogant and said I could always go to Big Lots. I told him I had purchased an Ashley Furniture piece from Big Lots 3 years ago and it was amazing and holding up extremely well. He said he makes his customers sign a disclaimer if they decide to purchase an Ashley piece from him. I said to him….I guess when it comes to furnishing a rental that I must be cheap. He said ……you said it…..not me! Needless to say, I will never step foot in that...
Read moreWhile we were initially impressed with how Shipley’s delivered our furniture so quickly, I am now disappointed as we spent over $3000 and after letting Shipley’s know the sectional sofa fabric is pilling terribly, they have not returned calls nor offered any assistance. Granted, I should have contacted the company more quickly as the fabric showed wear quickly. However, for the price paid I would have thought it would have had a good warranty. A person from Shipley’s came to our home and confirmed there was an issue and after several unanswered calls, I’ve realized they have no intentions of assisting. I’ll not be a future customer nor will I recommend...
