I can’t say enough positive things about this place. The state of the art equipment is great and there is plenty of it from Concept 2 Rowers, Assault Bikes, Ski Ergs, GHD machines, two huge Rigs, dumbbells, kettlebells, and plenty of bumper plates. The lobby has plenty of super comfortable leather couches and cubby hole shelves to store your things while you workout. The variety of times to catch a class is a huge benefit from really early for the rise and grinders to mid morning, noon, late afternoon, evening.
You can tell the owners put a large amount of thought into everything they do. Before each 12 week cycle everyone receives a detailed write up of the programming and which lifts are we doing and where the focus is at, etc. The fact that we use WODify is also a huge advantage because you can easily track your progress in addition to seeing what the following days workout looks like.
The level of coaching here is top notch. They are fun but most importantly professional and emphasize form and safety. They are also always willing to spend the extra time to talk with you about skill work, nutrition, mobility, you name it.
Finally, the members are fantastic! The coaches have fostered an incredibly supportive and welcoming community. There is a wide range of fitness levels from people like myself who are still trying to get their first double under to very elite games level athletes. Everyone is super nice and there are plenty of fun social events from Midnight Murph to Member Appreciation parties.
If you are looking for a new box or simply want to give Crossfit a try I highly recommend dropping into one of their free Saturday classes and checking...
Read more"To be, or not to be" as the late great William Shakespeare wrote. And that was the question a year ago I found myself asking. To be fit, in shape and enjoy what my creator has given me on a daily basis or to sit on the coach, watch TV and be unhealthy.
I was unsure about Crossfit and also about Oldline but there was a Groupon offer for a months unlimited visit for $34 and I took advantage of it. It was a decision I did not regret because the owners, the coaches and most importantly my fellow crossfitters were and are amazing. Very supportive, always willing to help and offer advice.
What makes Oldline Crossfit better for me than anywhere else? Kyle "Jax Teller" Flynn is one of the most amazing coaches / owners. If there is ever a moment where you need advice, help, even a shoulder to cry on he is there. Its that moment when you want to give up, quit, find a reason to not show up that he becomes a mind reader and is there to offer you that spiritual guidance to continue. Think of him as your Crossfit guardian angel.
Also Dr Rob "The Alchemist" Connolly, who is the resident doctor and a priceless gem. If like me you don't always listen to your coaches, you don't do your stretches out of laziness then one visit to Dr Rob and you are good to go.
All in all, after a year at Oldline Crossfit I am glad I joined. Its not just a gym for me, its a family, a group of people who workout together, laugh together, cry together and celebrate one another achievement as a family. And you do feel like family because that's how they make your feel, day...
Read moreWhere should I begin?! I had been on the fence about trying CrossFit, having been intimidated by a few boxes I tried. But Old Line changed my perception completely!
My experience here has been very pleasant, from the very first email/text inquiry I sent them, to every class I have been to. Annie has been very prompt in setting me up for a free drop-in class, the subsequent Foundation classes, and initiating my membership. Melissa is a personable coach who is very patient with my questions (and over-thinking mind) during the Foundation classes. Jason is super knowledgeable in correcting my forms. Every coach I have met is very professional and approachable. The class-goers are diverse. The WODs are carefully planned with a huge variety. The classes are well structured with scaling options.
The facility is very clean, organized, and HUGE with a nice lounge and 3 bathrooms/showers.
They use Wodify to help you reserve/sign-in to classes, track your progress, check out the leaderboards, and even look up movements/techniques. Their website is up-to-date with membership options that include pricing - a feature that I really appreciate, because not that many boxes have their pricing listed anywhere.
Besides CrossFit, they offer open gym, yoga classes, CrossFit Kids. They also host a plethora of community events and training.
I highly recommend Old Line CrossFit to anyone who is looking for a clean and well-equipped box to workout with a team of professional coaches and...
