Updated response: If you truly sympathized then you would make this right. I truly hope people see that this location is not for the consumer but rather about making a buck. Your staff was in the wrong period for failing to tell us that we needed to sign a cancellation form or email me the information to cancel on line back in December when initially called.
After getting my transmission replaced, my radiator, among other things, and finally getting my vehicle backā¦.. I called the Seymour Location on December 1, 2023 and talked to a female employee. I explained that I wanted to cancel our membership. She said okay and that as long as it was canceled by Jan 31, 2024. We would not be charged. I thought it was cancelled as of December 1, 2023. Iāve had alot going on and had a death in the family so I didnāt follow up until the end of January 26, 2024. So When I called again on January 26, 2024 to confirm the cancellation, I was asked by the employee why we were cancelling, I explained that we were making cut backs because can not afford it with inflation and everything. Then the call got dropped so I didnāt call back. So I assumed that itās fine and that she heard what I had stated.
Then on February 2, 2023 we were charged our monthly rate of $88. So I call today to ask why. I was told it was because they didnāt have a signed cancellation form on file. I explained that I was never told that one needed to be signed. So you mean to tell me that on Two different days, two different times, in two different months yet no one could bother to relay that information or thought that was important for the client to know? The employee today told me I could stop by or she could emailed the forms but I would have to cancel for each person on our membership. So I told her that I would stop by on my way to work. Once there she was trying to explain it to me but it felt more like she was arguing with me. When I asked for a refund (or that I would dispute the charge) because the error is really on the employees of Workout anytime, I was told NO and that I would continue to be charged even after I dispute the charge with our bank. She said the manager would arrive soon if I could wait. By this point I was aggravated and late for work from dealing with this, that I asked for the cancellation forms to be emailed to me and I left.
Once I get logged in online to cancel, it says that we will be charged another $88 in March in order to cancel. Seriously? I told you all in December THAT WE CAN NOT AFFORD IT yet you donāt want to refund our money and want to charge us again? Why should we have to choose between putting food in our kids mouth and surgery for our dog who has a cancerous tumor, or paying you $176 for a gym membership that I clearly told you all WE CAN NOT AFFORD!!
