I’ll start off by saying that our family loves Dairy Queen. As matter of fact…several of my family members waited to be among the first patrons of the Seymour store! Our favorite thing to have…me, my wife and my 4-youngest kids…is the Choco-Cherry-Love Blizzard. My oldest son doesn’t care for cherry…and gets one of the other flavors. Then…all of a sudden the Seymour and Sevierville stores didn’t carry that flavor. They told us it was discontinued. However…several DQ’s up towards Johnson City…and out near Nashville continued to carry it. The manager of the Seymour store even said that the owners of those Dairy Queens are probably buying their ingredients from an outside source…like it was some big clandestine operation or like they were receiving black market cherries! He then told me that he could make it by using the hard cherry shell they use for their dipped cones. We gave it a shot…and it was disgusting.
Anyway…recently in Florida, my wife and I went to a Dairy Queen in Jensen Beach. We were so shocked to find Choco-Cherry Love on the menu…as a returning favorite. We stopped again in South Carolina and the clerk told us they are getting it back…but haven’t received their shipment of cherries as of yet. But…we were excited. My wife tried the Frosted Animal Cracker Blizzard…and it was great! Chock full of blended frosted pink sprinkled animal crackers. She loved it…almost as much as the Choco-Cherry Love!
So…today at about 4:15…she drove through the drive-thru at the Seymour Dairy Queen to see if they had the Choco-Cherry-Love. Unfortunately, they did not. However…the clerk offered to make it using the cherry shell. “Um…no thank you!” my wife replied. “I’ll take the small Frosted Animal Cracker Blizzard”. “For .59 cents, do you want me to add extra animal crackers?” the woman asked. Perplexed…because we’ve never heard anyone at Dairy Queen offer extra Blizzard filling for a fee before…my wife answered “No…I’ll just take it regular”. After all…the last time she ordered in…in South Carolina…it was loaded with the animal crackers and looked just like it did in the advertisement. My wife received the Blizzard, which cost $4.19. But when she began to eat it…it was almost exclusively vanilla soft serve ice cream…with just a small hint of frosted animal cracker. It wasn’t even pink, like the photo in the advertisement. So…she drove back to Dairy Queen and went inside. “Excuse me” my wife said to the woman who made the Blizzard, “but I’d like to return this”. “What’s wrong with it?” the woman asked. “Well”, my wife answered, “there is hardly any hint of animal crackers in this…and it’s basically just vanilla ice cream”. “I put the prescribed amount in there” the woman retorted. “I’ve been to other Dairy Queens before” my wife answered, “and the last time, the Blizzard was full of frosted animal crackers, and it was pink and had the flavor of the animal crackers”. “Well” the woman answered, “that Dairy Queen must really be over their budget if they’re putting that much in their blizzard!” The woman then told my wife she could not take the Blizzard back, so my wife walked it over to the garbage and threw it away. The woman ultimately credited her back the $4.19.
It looks like we’ll get used to how things were before the Seymour and Sevierville Dairy Queens were here, which is a shame…and we’ll take advantage of the times we visit places with Dairy Queens that know how to make a Blizzard the right way…and maybe even have our favorite...
Read moreRevised, I would strongly advise anyone reading this not to eat at this establishment. As you can see by the original post it has been some time. Finally after a month of trying to locate a number to speak to someone regarding serving uncooked food to the public was looking for a live body. Was told someone would get back to me. Obviously no one ever did. Serving uncooked food to the public is a health code violation (everyone knows this) I can only assume this company does not care, I did speak to the store they are unable to assist. The original number their own store gave was disconnected. When questioned if anyone checks reviews the answer ???? Know one knows. Obviously they do not have a concern selling raw food to customers. Not looking for anything, just wanted an assurance that someone will properly train staff regarding service and being compliant with health code regulations.
Ordered 2 choc milk shakes 1 med Fri and a chili dog. Waiting in drive thru got to window was told to pull over they would "run" it out. Waited 8 min ( more like a slow crawl) received Luke warm chili on a ice cold hot dog. My guess is the chili was Luke warm because it had to thaw the frozen hot dog. There was maybe a dozen fries in the medium Fri and the milk shakes had to be eaten with a spoon (another words ice cream) After waiting 8 minutes for a frozen chili dog I wonder 1) how they can be considered "fast" food and 2) Given that the food was uneatable I think they should stop trying to sell anything other than Ice cream (as that is what they are known for). If they are unable to produce milk shakes and the grill obviously does not produce hot food, lord knows it wasn't even Luke warm food, perhaps they can sell ice cream. We did get a refund on the $4.00 cold dog. Outrageous. Our mistake...

Her best reply was it's a microwave, designed to only heat up the BUNS i knew right then that she was not bright. Brought the food home anyways cut my son's burger up in the small bites for him to see my sandwich was not made plain as request and was still very raw in the middle. my father in law burger was done so he ate his and ended up during the night sicker than S**T.
