Been shopping Glens for 30+ years and have watched a continual decline, especially in customer service. I drove up from Columbus and attempted to purchase a few items, 2 small metal plates, 6 small brackets, and a prybar. I was scolded for not placing items on the scale, then told I could not have a bag since I bought metal. I wasnt offered a small box, just told we have to pay for bags and I was allowed to have one. The cashier was flat out nasty. I truly simply wanted to wrap pltes to keep from getting vehicle dirty. My wife dealt with her prior to this and had same type experience. I decided I did not need these items bad enough and returned them all. Upon returning I explained my displeasure and was told she was glad I wasn't coming back. That she can't stand people like me. I used live in Shenandoah for 30 years and have been there hundreds if not thousands of times. So not sure why I am not worthy of her store anymore? I used to buy for work and personal use but after recent experience will just buy online or find another place. The amount of rudeness was just unreal. Will Never Set Foot in the...
Read moreThis place is an experience. Owned by Glen Arms, Glen's Surplus, also known as the Shelby Mall, is THE destination for everything from small engines and components, to rubber wheels, to grease mats, to tools, to home hardware, to Americana, to hunting supplies, to tires, decorating closeouts, to carpet and tile remnants, to outdoor gear, to military surplus, to survival gear, and I am SURE I am missing stuff!
It's very affordable too!
We come here, and we ALWAYS leave with a lot more than we intended to buy, but we seldom leave here spending more than we intended to spend.
By the way, I work with computers. Some of my most cherished tool kits are kits I purchased here. I'd be lost without them, and I have had them going on fifteen years.
For our handicapped friends, this store can be a challenge. Because of the nature of the products it carries and the way it's packed, aisles can be difficult sometimes for an abled person to navigate. I am certain, however, that someone will assist you.
This is a big store, but it's in a small town, filled with nice people. It's an...
Read moreI purchased a OEM MTD/Cub Cadet lawn mower spindle from them. The description said MTD OEM spindle and picture showed the MTD six point blade attachment What arrived was not a MTD spindle. It came in an unmarked box. It had a three point blade attachment, Cub Cadet uses six point attachment. It had a shaft to large for the oem Cub Cadet blade to go on. It had a grease zerk, Cub Cadet no longer puts those on as they sell sealed hubs. It didn’t have the Cub Cadet sticker with part and sn on it. It appears that a knockoff spindle was substituted for the oem spindle that was advertised and I ordered. The spindle was returned and a new spindle was purchased from Cub Cadet directly. Take care when ordering from...
