Sheffield Lake Community Center — Local services in Sheffield Lake

Great place to have a party! Large, attractive, modern space has all the amenities: male/female bathrooms, kitchen, electrical outlets, good lighting, adequate heating/AC, striking window view of Lake Erie, ample parking for guests, and a large outdoor manicured lawn area in the back (excellent for sunset pics). Also has tables and chairs for seating. I believe the indoor space can be partitioned off into 2 smaller rooms. We had a party of 60 people and used 1/3 of the available space. MUST BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE!!! We booked 6 months in advance of our event. Being located in a highly populated area, road congestion can be a problem at peak hours. A community center that is great for adults such as birthday parties, scout meetings, weddings, and receptions, (BUT) its original purpose was to keep teenagers and younger children busy thru-out the year. It's a great place to hold a reception but it does not have a liquor license, but I believe BYOB is allowed. Very few kids use it for what it's intended purpose but not sure how that happened but maybe children nowadays are not interested in hobbies of old. A huge benefit although rarely used is that it sits right on the Lake and very nice views for all. In the long run beach erosion will be its future enemy as it is for many homes in the area but each year we lose 1-2...

My 1st time there. Not sure what all they do for their community, but they offered free coupons for farmers markets for this summer, I got lucky. Did not use the rest room while there. Did not investigate any other assistance offered. Wheelchair access: yes! Restroom: yes! Open areas: yes could hold a few hundred? At least 150 showed up with my visit there. Spaces could have held more than the 150! Parking good but tight with 150 people and not...
