The Mission Church — Local services in Shelby Charter Township

My wife and I have been attending the Eastside Vineyard Church since the 2nd preview service - almost 7 years now - and it's the type of church I've been looking for ever since I became a Christian nearly 50 years ago.

The Vineyard Movement brings together the best of the Evangelical and Charismatic streams of Christianity while avoiding the excesses. The Vineyard theology adheres to the historical, biblical, orthodox Christian beliefs that are held in common by all Christians. The distinctive focus on the Kingdom of God, especially the realization that we live in a time between the "already" and "not yet", helped clarify my thinking around our Christian mission this side of heaven.

Most importantly, the Eastside Vineyard values and dreams inspire me. It's so much easier to live the Christian walk when you have the encouragement and reinforcement of a body of believers who share your passion for God. And the new focus on discipleship and spiritual direction have deepened by spiritual intimacy with Jesus.

I was raised Catholic, but I didn't go to church on a regular basis. My sister and brother in law talked about Eastside Vineyard Church often so I decided to attend. That was three months ago and I've attending every Sunday but one in that time. Pastor Kopp makes me think differently every week. He is so knowledgeable of the scriptures and is able to relate these teachings to our every day lives. He gives us questions to consider after we leave church, so I find myself thinking of these throughout the week. I now find myself looking forward to Sunday to hear what he has to say to help me think differently. I met Dan Kopp on the third Sunday I was there. He has remembered my name every time I see him. This is so different from the Catholic Church, where you attend then leave without meeting or getting to know the priest. The other members of Eastside Vineyard are also very friendly, from greeting you at the front door, to introducing themselves and making sure you feel welcome. I can not begin to say how glad I am I was led to this church. I have been attending for several years and have been moved to press on in my spiritual walk and to know God more personally. I look forward to Sundays because its always like meeting with my family. Dan is an awesome teacher of the true word of God. It is a casual church but filled with the Holy spirit and oozes love. I had been to many church's before I found this one to be home for me. I was drawn in by the sign on the road, I know God led me here. I am one that finds it easy to blend and run but here I am comfortable enough to visit and enjoy my time with others. I have grown so much in the word due to Dan's digging into Gods word and presenting it so it hits home. I believe this is a church anointed by God and He is doing great things in this body of believers.
