R E Desktop — Local services in Shorewood

Trent Frazier is the local owner of Re:Desktop in Tonka Bay, MN. I have known him for at least seven years and appreciate his resourcefulness to find parts for my Dell Precision M6800. It’s an old gem. More than once I’ve been told it is the best computer that Dell has ever made. Several other computer services businesses closer to my home have rather dismissed my need for parts and repairs; rather, they just encouraged me to buy a new computer. Which I have done, but still favor working on my Precision M6800, which I had customer purchased with all the bells and whistles.

Every time I’ve come with a request, say a new charging cord, needing my keyboard to lite up again, or whatever, he’s been genuinely interested in my computer and gone to lengths to source an older part. He has the experience that many newer computer technicians cannot match – he fixes software issues and hardware problems quickly and at a reasonable price. It’s a pleasure to enlist his expertise, as he values maintaining something worthwhile over opting for a replacement.

When a part was nowhere for purchase, a time or two, he had one to spare of an older computer. Wow – was I grateful!

Formerly located by Hazelwood Grill, Trent as with many other tenants in that area needed to relocate with the mall’s renovation. After being there something like 26 years, I think this move has worked out for the best for Re-Desktop. He is now in the former Shorewood Auto Sales building, which is an exceptional stand-alone building.

Trent, The owner of Re:Desktop has saved my “digital bacon” on several occasions. I’d have to say he did an excellent job every time. On one job in particular he when well above and beyond all expectations to chase down a rather rare part to save me on costs.
