I consistently and religiously get my nails, toes and eyebrows done. I've been doing so since I was a pre-teen. Literally, that long. My nail care is super important to me. I can be very picky. I like my nails to be about as close to perfect as they can be. I've bounced from nail place to nail place, technician to technician for 10+ years now. I moved to the Short Pump area, I've been to all of the salons around town. None of them lived up to my standards. Maybe I was too picky but some were just downright not good. I gave Relax Nails a shot one day when I was simply fed up of trying new nail places. I just wanted 1 nail salon, 1 nail tech, that I could consistently go to and not be disappointed each time I went. Let's be honest, nail care can get costly and you want to be satisfied, right? Maybe that's why I wasn't settling for less! And neither should you! We deserve it! Anyway, I can honestly say that I FINALLY made a home at Relax Nails for my nail needs! Mandy is my nail technician and she ALWAYS delivers 100%! If she cannot give me exactly what I am asking for, she is upfront with me about it which I truly appreciate. She offers similar alternatives, will try new ways or different ways to accommodate me, she will make it work for you! No matter what. She treats you as her only customer even though you aren't. She's become my constant. I will never place my nails in anyone else's hands ever again. Anyone there does my pedicures, whomever is available. I haven't been disappointed there by ANYONE. All of them are so kind, warm, welcoming and accommodating. They know exactly what they are doing and exactly how to do it. Relax Nails has lived up to my PICKY & sometimes unrealistic expectations! Visited here for the first time and was really bummed & disappointed to have such a poor experience. I highly trust reviews so at a minimum I expected a standard salon experience. I got dip nails, a relax spa pedicure ($80) and half leg wax. Not going to go in depth but will highlight the takeaway on each service. I showed a picture of the shape I was looking for, kept asking to adjust because it wasn’t close (simple coffin shape, nothing crazy). Had to re-file when I got home. The dip is wavy on my nails and looks like I did it myself. We got the highest cost pedicure expecting a long relaxing massage and extras to a regular pedicure. I think I got a 30 second leg rub during oil application and no massage. This sounds boujee, but when you’re paying for a service you’d expect at least more than what you get in a standard pedicure. I could ignore all of the above and just not visit again, and not leave a review, but the leg waxing was the final straw. I don’t think this salon should offer leg waxing services if this is their norm. I’ve never gotten a wax before so I assumed all was normal until the next day when my legs were bruised and my skin was ripped off and red.

The woman who did my legs got wax all over my freshly painted toes, so my pedicure was ruined and when I pointed out whole areas she missed, her response was to keep showing her because she couldn’t see well. After all of that i will have patchy prices of hair on the front of my legs and areas that weren’t done.

Take the review with caution, maybe it was a bad day, maybe I didn’t get the person who regularly does this service… but based on my experience I’ll go out of my way to find a different...

Been going to Relax Nails for about 7/8 years! They never miss. Everyone in their shop can do a great pedicure & manicure. The owners are so friendly, very warm and welcoming! They have the most up to date nail colors, nail products and salon pedicure/manicure chairs! They offer different beverages also for anyone who wants a drink. (No alcohol however which is a good thing to me-the last thing I want to be doing is relaxing & have some drunk maniac beside me lol). They offer an array of different pedicures & they also offer the hot rocks that they rub all over your legs & feet. (It’s my FAV part of the pedicure). They also have an ATM inside the salon just in case you want to leave a tip in cash or pay in cash. They also started a new thing where every nail tech has their Venmo information at the front counter; so you can also tip that way! I live in downtown Richmond but I will always drive to this spot any day for a quality pedicure & manicure! But they aren’t the cheapest- you pay for what you get. So if you want to pay $25 for a gel manicure or a full set you might as well just head to Southside plaza & deal with the hood rats over there where you will also walk out with cringy looking nails. Just saying this place isn’t cheap but it also is affordable for the quality of nails & service you will receive. I’m a quality over quantity kind of girl. So the prices are pretty reasonable to me!
