Louisiana Meat Store — Local services in Shreveport

I had one of the WORST customer service experiences at Louisiana Meat Locker recently. I walked in prepared to spend close to $800 on various meats, but the manager (not the owner) refused to open the large cases so I could inspect the product before purchasing. Who in their right mind expects customers to buy meat blindly without even seeing it first? Because of her rude and unprofessional attitude, I ended up putting everything back except for two cases. That’s hundreds of dollars in lost business — all because she was too lazy or unwilling to do the bare minimum for a customer. To make things worse, when we opened the two cases we did buy and asked if we could leave the cartons behind (a basic courtesy at any meat distributor), she outright refused that too. No explanation, no customer service, just a cold “no.” If this is how the manager handles paying customers, I seriously hope the owner sees this and makes some major changes. You lost hundreds of dollars over something that could’ve been resolved in 2 minutes with common sense and a little respect. Absolutely unacceptable. I won’t be returning, and I’ll be warning...

I love this store. I prefer it over the other "meat market" options I am aware of locally. Products are priced from a range of reasonable to "wow, that's cheap." Mostly market rate pricing for bulk, but definately convenient. Closer to downtown, where I live, than other grocery stores. It's also a great place to fill your spice cabinet...and I love having a variety of spice in my cupboard. Its not really great for picking up something quick for supper, but if you want to have a neat dinner party at home, you can find some good options here. I'm a chicken wing freak, and pound for pound, this store is among the most affordable. The shopper will need to explore to find the best offerings. Beef ribs had little to no meat on bones. 10Lb. Ground beef said it was 80/20 and had so much fat when we cooked @ 1lb. of it. Worst part was that it tasted wild/tainted and we threw out Italian dish when all 3 of us were disgusted. Have not cooked chicken wings or Breasts yet, but wings looked freezer burned and discolored when we unpacked. So disappointed! Gonna stick with Kroger or Sams Club. I work for a large company in town and seen the menu and I decided to try. My wife and I were not impressed after a 30 minute drive and definitely will not return or recommend after wasted time...
