This website gets 5 star reviews. They have a very nice selection of fabrics and reasonable prices. Based on those things, I purchased a 30 yard bolt of fabric from them. My project was going to need approximately 4 yards per run. A few days after ordering, I got a voice mail that stated my order was shipped and they had substituted 8, 10 and 12 yard pieces in lieu of a 30 yard bolt. I contact these people and stated my extreme displeasure with their substitution as its quite likely that these pieces are not from the same dye lots and it will reduce the number of runs I can get that don't have seams or color variations. I bought a 30 yard bolt because that's percisely what I needed. Anything I attempt with the remnants they sent will be allot more work, because i have to piece meal fabric together. Yes I'm very disappointed that they did not contact me to allow me to pick a different print that came on a 30 yard bold. Today they emailed me to say i can pay to ship it back if Im not satisfied and they don't provide shipping labels. They also stated they're not a wholesale distributor. Then perhaps their website should not include purchase options of 30 yard bolts. Im a senior and can't pay for what i didnt want and buy a replacement piece. SMH They never made it abundantly clear they...

I've been to the store a few times, and ordered from their website, too. The store is only open on weekdays, and even then only until 5pm, so even though I live relatively close by, it's hard for me to visit. The layout is kind of nuts, so for your first visit I'd recommend getting an employee (they're all friendly!) to show you all the different rooms so you don't miss any part of it. I also recommend having a tablet or smartphone so you can do a quick lookup on their website for whatever bolt of fabric you stop to look at, because there is no information/pricing written on the bolt, only a product number. They're pretty generous when cutting yardage, which is nice.
For me, the real benefit of going there instead of shopping online is the ultra-cheap "fashion fabrics" section at the front of the store. Those aren't listed online, and they're all only a couple dollars per yard. I especially like going during the $1/yd sale. :) If you prefer browsing online, or want to jump on one of the (frequent!) sales if you're worried things might sell out before you get there, you can always specify "hold for pickup" in the notes, and they'll adjust your order to remove...
Read moreAs a person with limited fabric choices, I am thrilled to find Fabric Mart, and best of all, the fabric club, Julie’s Picks! Seeing and feeling the fabric allows me to make informed decisions. Previously, online fabric shopping was pretty much just on a wing and a prayer if I would get anything close to what I was hoping the fabric would look and feel like! They are so helpful when I am trying to put something together, and because customer service is so stellar, they can always hook me up so that I have everything I need to make my project a success. I urge you to ask questions, because they really know how to make a project turn out the way you hope it would. Having the right notions, etc. really change the experience of sewing, and the appearance of the final garment. The orders are put together with diligence, and arrive unharmed. The classes offered really do add to my knowledge, and I am enrolled this weekend in Fearless Zippers! I want to master all the things that make me avoid certain patterns! Fabric Mart, I believe, is dedicated to educating its customers. You will not be sorry to try Fabric Mart. You will be making new friends there, if you are anything like...
