Garden Spot Nursery Inc — Local services in Slidell

LOVED visiting Garden Spot Nursery today. I was looking for a Butterfly Bush to attract butterflies and bees to our yard! My husband found a beautiful tropical plant as well. The nursery is B-I-G and FULL of beautiful plants, trees, flowers, etc. The inside building has MANY interesting items to decorate your porch/patio/sunroom! There are garden flags, doormats, flower pots of every color and size, silk floral arrangements, metal and cement garden statues and other various yard art items. My personal favorites were the wall crosses and garden crosses to compliment our Christian flag on our flag pole....(that's a hint for Mother's Day and my birthday next month!😉)! I loved the fact that they had a local Christian radio station playing...I was able to sing along as I shopped. The staff is extremely personable. They are very knowledgeable about the many items they sell. The prices are VERY reasonable on their plants/flowers/trees. We will definitely be back to shop Garden Spot Nursery. I live very nearby and have shopped there many times. Most times they've had what I was looking for at very reasonable prices. The staff is knowledgeable and are willing to help in any way possible. They have so much to choose from. My problem is that if you go in the morning the clientele are mostly senior citizens that will talk the ears off the staff waxing nostalgic about how beautiful the petunias were fifty years ago and the way Slidell was back in those days. I had a legitimate issue with an area of my yard and was looking for a particular plant or advice for one that would serve the purpose. I'm not a rude person and wasn't going to interrupt so I just left. There is no doubt the employee saw me walking around the entire yard. I feel it's the employee's place to politely end this type of conversation so other customers can be helped. Not sure if I'll be back and...

We have a lovely home in Oak Harbor we recently moved into (6 mo’s ago). The landscaping definitely needed sprucing up. We checked a couple of nurseries but really felt comfortable w Garden Spot. Why? Well, 1st, their inventory was very attractive. 2nd- Dave was super informative and knowledgeable about the plants and flowers we were interested in. 3rd- I think they are reasonably priced and for the amount of product that we ordered , very fair; including labor. The workers were awesome and very accommodating as was Dave. We could not have asked for a more seamless , non- fuss process. I HIGHLY recommend Garden Spot for any and all of your landscaping and other outdoor needs....
