Caribou Medical Center — Local services in Soda Springs

My mother went in with a stage 4 cancer diagnosis as well as a feeding tube. The nurses did not know how to use a feeding tube, and me and my family had to teach them. We had to bring in our own materials for the feeding tube because the hospital did not have the proper supplies. They were clearly unorganized and frankly uneducated. She had a port in her heart so that she would not have to get continuous IV’s, which they repeatedly did anyways. As a family it was extremely frustrating and heartbreaking that the staff had a lack of communication which caused our mother to go through unnecessary pain. To top it all off, they gave her too much pain medication which caused an overdose that needed to be reversed with narcan. They did not immediately clean her bed, so we did. The nurses were extremely disrespectful and failed to take responsibility for their almost deadly mistakes. Since this incident I have been told the nurses underwent training. However I feel they should be fired as well as have their licenses revoked because they could have killed my mother. I DO NOT recommend this hospital if anyone needs serious medical treatment. We recently had a hospital stay with my 2 month old son at CMC. The staff was amazing and helped me get things moving with specialist we needed to see. Tanner Davis in the ER was great and explained everything that was going on very well and made sure we were on the same page with everything happening. I am very grateful Dr. Franson, Dr. Christensen, and Denise in case management for their efforts in finding out what specialists my son needs to see and helping me get appointments with them. Although I was unable to deliver my son at CMC the staff have been very diligent with helping us get him the medical care he needs. Had a procedure done at Caribou Medical Center. Everyone at Caribou Memorial was friendly and helpful.
