We were 3 miles out of Soda Springs, passing through while on vacation at 9:30 in the morning when our check engine light and oil light came on. Our car had oil but it apparently wasn’t getting to the engine. We limped in the the dealership hoping our engine wouldn’t seize. We asked the dealership if they could scan the engine code for us. They said they would have to make us wait until about 2:30 pm before they would even scan it for us. Since it takes a whole 2 minutes to scan, we found it a little heartless they would have us wait with kids in the parking lot for 5 hrs before they would even just SCAN it. And by the way, they would be charging us $75 for it as well. We are shopping for a new truck this summer and will certainly NOT be buying anything from this dealership. Since ownership has changed, apparently so have the values that were once there when it was a Hunzeiker. Not at all impressed with the lack of hospitality. Poor form Caribou Ford. What an embarrassment…
Update: We were not asking to be moved up in line before other customers to fix our vehicle. We were just asking to have them scan for the code so we could figure out a plan and see if we needed someone to drive to come get us. Luckily, we made it to NAPA, they of course let us scan the code ourselves for free, like everywhere else does, and we were able to figure out what to do next. Auto Zone, Checker Auto, NAPA- -everywhere let’s you scan it yourself for free, in a whole 60 seconds. So it clearly felt rude that they would make stranded travelers wait 5 hours just to SCAN for a code. They clearly didn’t care about good...
Read moreSaw a pre owned truck on their dealership site, called in and was very interested. Got the salesman to send photos, details, videos so I could make the decision and was very interested. After speaking with financing they mentioned there was a price discrepancy. Immediately I was concerned but the financing lady did not make it seem like an issue. Later I received a call from the salesman saying they had an issue with this price. I said well its listed on your OWN dealership website. He said that must be some kind of typo, maybe I would understand but I said well its not a third party website its the dealership's! I told him with the cost of flying out to Idaho and driving the truck back to LA I'm not interested in paying 2k more than the advertised price on their website and they said no deal...5 days later and its still on their own website listed at the "erroneous" price I was interested at. Sent texts to the salesman indicating this but received no reply. Don't know why all dealerships have to be shady even in Idaho but I guess that's just how they all really are. Wish they hadn't...
Read moreWe’ve purchased several vehicles (including our current vehicle) from Todd Hunsakers and generally it’s been a positive experience. However recently we had a check engine light come on. We had a local (Twin Falls) mechanic tell us it needed a new turbo. We decided to drive it to John Adams in hopes that they could navigate the warranty forever process more smoothly than our local guy. The Twin mechanic cleared the code, we drove it 170 miles to John Adams. They had it a couple of hours and told us there was nothing wrong with it and there wasn’t anything to be done despite us stating it clearly lacking power and that I had a mechanic who stated it needed a new turbo. (Also they made zero attempt to fit us in for an oil change). So after discussing with the mechanic what he did to diagnose we took it back to no surprise half way back to Twin Falls the check engine light is back on. So now I’ll do what I should have done in the first place and have someone local deal with it. Just wished I wouldn’t have wasted all my time...
