I want to express my dissatisfaction with the Shewells furniture sgore located in Halifax Va. Our family has been a customer of there products for over 11 years, i never complained even after having to replace our couches about ever 3 years with a price tag around 2-3 k each time, this last time after having to replace leather couches after only 4 years, because they were peeling, i spoke to a sales man, who informed me, the company has since changed their fabric formula, to stop the peeling, i was given a chance to get a small credit, and a chance to pick new couches again. I spent almost 5 hours there picking out new couches, rugs, and tables. 2 weeks later they arrived, took the old couches we had paid a good penny for. Upon delivery, the table was broke, the couch had a tear in it, and the big chair had no feet on it.i did not except the chair or table. After a month with no answer, they tell me there both on back order. But they still want a payment. The next month, still no answer, i then inform them thag the couches ate defective, thete is no sttuffing or padding in the arm rest, just a sold thin piece of wood running onthe top and a plastic of some kind that is curved, and upon pushing on the arm to get of the floor, it pushed in, you csn actually pop each side of arm rest and it makes a popping sound, one arm rest is stuck in the pushed position, the back cushions are going flat, and the seems on the cushions are coming undone, i went in yo talk to them, they agreed to come look.2 weeks later they bting a tabke and look at couches. Then 1 week later they call and agree its difective, but will offer a replacement unless make the payment. I explained i will make a payment after you get these couches, and i puck out usable couches, and i still have no chair, they tell me the chair is finally there and they can deliver, it. I said i dont want the chair, because we r not keeping the couches, there broke, . To make it short, i received the 2 couches in April, and 2 side tables, June (still no table, or couch) and when i call they first tell me, there records dhow it was delivered with the order (then call bck) to correct it, June, i inform them the couches are broke. End of june, chair arrives, with table. I inform them i dont want it. July they deliver table, agree couches need to taken bck. August, table is falling apart, and a chunk fell off, that was glued back on by them, you can see the paint over top of the chunk then glued over, August now, i call tell them to come get couches, they tell me it would be a voluntary repo, ???? What ? ??? And they will charge me for the balance due after they try to sell the broken couch. ????? They told me, that when i order the furniture its mine, and if its broke, i have to file warranty, and only if i pay them again on the loan, i said come get the dang couches, then rewrite a loan for usable not broken couch and love seat. At that point i just want them to take there broken couches they sold me, that broke within the first 2 months. I dont want any more crappy furniture from them. Then the next day, i get a court order , to recover 1074, for a couch, chair and loveseat, THEY STILL HAVE the loveseat. The guy told me they need to recover the depreciated value of the furniture and ghry want us to pay it. This is beyond poor business and more like blackmail, after close to 10 k in purchases from us, they are trying to force us to pay for broken furniture that they know is broke, but will not take them back unless WE pay them for the loan for the broken furniture, we have paid a few hundred dollars already towards the furniture, and we are not giving them another penny. They also told me that if i pay them, and pick out new furniture that they will also charge us for the depreciated value after they try to resell it, OMG????? Read moreSchewels sold me a defective powered sofa set and an insurance policy that was supposed to take effect after the 1-year manufacturer's warranty expired. First, Schewels didn't call to schedule furniture delivery so my living room was still full when they came to deliver the new furniture. Then, within the span of 7 months there were 3 separate issues where the sofas didn't work. Before the 2nd issue was resolved the store stopped responding to me. I actually had to travel 30 miles to the store to speak with an associate about the 3rd issue. When I explained that I didn't want to pick new furniture as the manager suggested, Schewels refused to give me a full refund that included the cost of the insurance policy even though the policy wasn't in effect yet. They gave me a store credit for the insurance policy only after a lot of frustration, calls, emails and back and forth. To add insult to injury, corporate didn't inform the store that I was coming to use the credit, so I had to wait until they could contact corporate for verification. Which meant I had to make a second trip to use the store credit. I ordered a dinette set with the credit in Feb that was supposed to arrive in May. In May I was told it would be here in June. In July, I called because the store had dropped contact with me and I was told the dinette set would be delivered August 19th. On August 19th, I didn't receive any furniture or a update call, so a few days later I got another table and cancelled the order. Schewels is still taking the position that I am not entitled to a full refund. They are holding my money for the insurance policy I never used hostage and trying to force me to shop with them under the guise of a store credit. I paid them cash and that is what I want back. I was told by the sales associate that the powered sofa set that I had so much problem with was one of the best items in the store when I purchased it. Why would I want anything else out of Schewels if that's the case? After everything I've been through with the things I've tried to purchase, a store who valued their customers would do the right thing but not Schewels. I am angry and frustrated and I don't want a store credit...I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! If I could, I would give Schewels negative stars on this review. My advice to anyone who needs furniture...Don't go to Schewels, spend your money with a company who values you...

In the pass I haven't been behind. I called to talk to Corliss Branche. several time but didn't get a call back. I was coughing so bad that I was throwing up. I wanted to see if I could pay about 60 or 70 dollars until I could get caught up. The receptionist tried to get her . She put me on hold several times. Still no call back. Yesterday I got a threat to talk legal actions. I am not trying to get out of paying the bill and getting caught up. My medicines were almost $300.00with co pays alone. I have phemonia, Chronis Asthma, COPD and on oxygen 24/7ying about this. Please help me to be able to pay something. I also went into a an anxiety attack. I can't sleep worrying about tis bill. This at the Henderson store. In can't believe that anyone can be so cold hearted. I just want to pay something until I can get the bill caught. All I want is a chance. I am still sick.
