Edited to respond to owner: I didn't ask to troubleshoot??? THERE WAS NO OFFER TO TROUBLESHOOT!
A young lady, presumably Emily (since there are only two people who answer the phone and one is a manager) simply told me that the little car is outside of your one year warranty and to contact the warranty company. I was then given their contact number. Wonderful. If I had been properly helped, maybe the problem would have been rectified before ALL OF THIS. Moderno Kids, do better. And my complaints about your warranty company are still valid and do concern you! You're selling their product.
My child's little Land Rover stopped working properly about 14 - 16 months after purchase. It began having little electrical quirks that we thought were battery issues but now realize that the car is having electrical issues, like a brain that's not communicating with the body. Contacted Moderno Kids who gave me the number for the warranty company they sold me a warranty through. My interactions with the warranty company have been a nightmare. I needed to go as far as to forward my original email receipt, with payment information, to this company because a screenshot with the purchase date isn't sufficient. After I forwarded it, I was told that a screenshot would have been sufficient but wasn't included in the multiple screenshots I sent. This was told to me BY THE SAME REPRESENTATIVE who just told me a screenshot wasn't sufficient. Now, once again, I wait to hear back from this company. At best, I'll need to pack up the car and send it out to be repaired but there is no guarantee that the repair will be covered by the warranty.
Because of the back and forth and hassle of dealing with the warranty company, I called Moderno to give feedback about my experience. My experience with the warranty company Moderno uses, the company Moderno has hired to take care of issues like this. I spoke with Emily and she was monotone and indifferent. She said there's nothing she can do and no one to forward my feedback to. Initially, she didn't even want to acknowledge that Moderno has hired this company to cover warranty issues for their toys. I asked her who I could forward my feedback to since she was unwilling. She started to give me a general email address when I asked to speak to someone above her. She put me on hold and told me that that person is gone for the day. I said okay, I'll call back, and who do I ask for. She replied that she is not allowed to give the manager's name out. What a mess!!! But, she did explain that there are only two people who answer the phones so I should reach this mystery person tomorrow to give feedback on their awful warranty company.
Truth be told, I would not recommend doing business with Moderno Kids or their warranty company. My child has an expensive toy that is now a safety hazard and a glorified paperweight and I'm being treated like something you find on the bottom of your shoe - you'll address the thing on the bottom of your shoe but you don't want to. Based on my experiences, they just do not care about customers. Go with someone who has a better warranty company and caring customer support...
Read moreRevising my review - WISHING I COULD SELECT 0 STARS for this Brand and Commerce, based on the reply from entitled owner published below my review.
This brand and seller operate with deceptive practices and lack accountability for their so-called “premium” products. From the very beginning, the ride-on car I purchased was defective: the battery was dead out of the box, the main circuit board had to be replaced, and the remote control never communicated properly with the vehicle. Even standing less than 3 feet away, the car would become uncontrollable, a serious safety issue for small kids. Instead of honoring their warranty, they pressured me into leaving a 5-star review just to “start” the replacement process. That is not customer service, that is extortion. For a company charging more than double what big-box stores sell for comparable ride-on cars (which actually work better), this lack of responsibility is unacceptable. The owner’s dismissive response only reinforces the problem: shifting blame to the customer instead of standing behind the product. Hiding behind “safety standards” and battery life disclaimers doesn’t change the fact that this car never performed as advertised. This is fake marketing, plain, simple and criminous as it poses a safety risk to users. Consumers deserve honesty, accountability, and proper warranty support. This company shows none of that. Their practices are unfriendly, unprofessional, and misleading, buyers should beware before paying inflated prices for...
Read moreWe bought a ride-on Jeep for my 2 year old for Christmas and it quickly became his favorite thing. It's easy to drive but the parent controller definitely came in handy for first month or so as he figured out how to keep an eye on where he's going. However, it has been 10 months and we've had a numerous issues arise. Customer service attempted to help by sending out replacement parts but the problems were never solved, only new ones kept popping up. So for 2.5 months I went back and forth with them constantly sending them new pictures, videos and updates. They would sometimes respond in a timely manner but often I'd hear nothing for 5+ days and have to keep following up by email and phone. Eventually they told me I voided the warranty by storing the jeep in a covered area with a ride-on car cover over it because that meant that moisture in the air could still penetrate it and create issues. I'm not sure if this is even actually stated anywhere in the warranty information but in the end we had a mostly functioning toy for about 7.5 months and now it's worthless as it won't even turn on. Not a great return for by far the most expensive toy we've ever had.
By the way, this was originally a 5 star review because they bribed me into leaving a 5 star review. They claimed that the warranty didn't cover the battery but they would include it for free if I left a 5 star review. I'd venture a guess that many of these other reviews had the same thing...
