I wish i could give less stars.
I recently got my calipers painted here and it was a horrific experience and the end result may have been even worse. I came here for a powder coating of my calipers (which evidently they dont do) and we reached out to them in messages. It was said that we wanted to powder coat my calipers and, Ashley, responded and listed out pricing and set me up with an appt. But never once did she say “sorry sir but we dont powder coat, we only paint.”and as someone who does not have any experience in this field, this was a distinction that i was not aware of. I bring my car in and they call me back in 25 hours saying its done. This is obviously a major red flag, since that wouldnt allow the proper time for cleaning, sanding, multiple layers, drying, and ceramic coating. so when i went in there i asked about it and they said they never said powder coating, it was a paint job. But in our messages they never told me it was a PAINT JOB. We asked for powder coating and Ashley said yes which i thought was being done this whole time. How can a business assume that a customer would know that painting does not encompass powder coating? Prior to this engagement, i thought they were one in the same.
I come and see the calipers and the work is extremely poor. They have bubbling all over them, and are not fully coated in paint. It looks worse than factory calipers. So at this point not only was there a miscommunication that caused this, but the job was done terribly. I would have been willing to live with a paint job instead of powder coating, if it were done well but as you see in the photos, this is not the case.
When i brought this to them, i was challenged on it for nearly 40 minutes saying its not that bad and that i just have a really good eye. I asked what solutions can be done to fix this and they begrudgingly offered to redo them, or put stickers on them to cover up their sloppy work. But why would i have someone redo something, when they couldn’t even do it right the first time? And not to mention, they said that if they redo it, there’s no garuntee it’ll be fixed, and theres a strong chance it could come out worse. How are those options fair?
So i proceeded to ask for a refund and they can just strip them back to the original caliper. But they said no and Ashley, who i guess is the desk lady or assistant, continues to blame this on me and saying they corrected me on it being a paint job as a opposed to a powder coating even though we have messages of her admitting this did not happen. Not only that, but Ashley also threatened to take legal action against ME, THE CUSTOMER who got ripped off because of her lack of communication skills. Ashley also said that she didn’t communicate this because she was “too busy trying to answer my other questions” as if to throw the blame back on me? You work at a desk and answer calls, this is quite literally your only job.
Update: i am being threatened with trespassing even though i treated everyone with respect, never raised my voice or cursed, never caused any damages and never even came back to the property (because why would i lol)
Nick was a pretty good dude throughout this process, but Ashley and the customer service team (if there even is one) did a horrific job and made sure that they will never get any of our business again. Spend the extra money and go to people who can do it right. And dont be fooled by their social media page, my car was up there but when you take a closer look, the...
Read moreLet me start by saying I have had my fair share of experiences with different shops, and even tried my hand at wrapping my cars alone before. By far and away, NM Tints, specifically Nick the owner and Randy his head installer, have been the most professional, detail oriented, and quality conscious people I have ever worked with.
NM Tints originally wrapped my E30 back in April of 2023. After coming to the shop and explaining my vision, they worked diligently to find the right material that matched the shade, luster, and quality finish I was looking to achieve. Not only did they do all of this background research free of charge, but they also ordered the material and did not charge me a markup for the service. Thats just one of many examples that goes to show these guys truly care about their customers and want to do right by them. Once the material arrived, we had 5 days to get the car completely wrapped and show ready. I put them under no pressure to finish, I was fine with missing the show given the short timeframe. Well, they got it done in 3 days leaving me extra time to prepare!
Following this experience, I have always returned to NM for any of my wrap and tint work. They wrapped a new bumper for me following an accident, a spoiler when I eventually installed one, I've had them tint my daily, change the color of my fog lights, paint trim, and many other cosmetic items that I can’t even begin to count up.
Most recently, Nick and Randy worked with me to develop a livery for the car they originally wrapped. They listened to my ideas, provided advice on certain aspects that could be improved or done better, and worked to make my dream become reality. Once again, under a tight window (24 hours to be exact) before a show Randy worked overtime through the darkest hours of the night getting the livery done just in time to make it.
Given my experience with NM Tints, they are the only tint and wrap shop I have ever and will ever recommend. I live over an hour away, with countless other options between, and I will continue passing those options up in favor of NM Tints. Every friend and family member I ever recommended to them has had the same positive sentiment as well.
Bottom line is, if you want a quality product installed by professionals who truly care about their craft and value their customers, you should not be looking anywhere other...
Read moreI had a really frustrating experience with NM Tints. I paid $800 to have 3M PPF installed on the front bumper of my brand-new car. The installation was done on July 9th, and over 10 days later — on July 19th — I washed the car for the first time. After the wash, I noticed that water had gotten trapped underneath the film, causing a visible bubble.
Bubbling is specifically covered under 3M’s 10-year warranty, and I reported it well within the required 2-week window. But NM Tints told me the warranty was voided because I attempted to remove the water myself. Here’s the full context:
It was 5 PM on a Saturday, just before closing — and they’re closed on Sundays. That meant no one could look at the issue until Monday at the earliest. I was genuinely concerned that letting water sit in a bubble like that for multiple days would cause further damage, not just to the film but also potentially to my car’s paint underneath.
Out of concern, I gently used my hand to squeeze out the water through a cut that had already formed in the PPF — a cut that happened just from a normal hand wash. I didn’t tear or peel anything. I just did what I thought any responsible person would do to prevent further damage. I hand-washed the car properly, with no high-pressure nozzle close to the car or anything harsh. I know how to wash a car.
Still, NM Tints kept insisting that because I removed the water, I caused the damage — and that voids the warranty. That doesn’t make sense to me. I didn’t cause the issue. The film failed during a standard wash after a reasonable waiting period, and my attempt to prevent further damage is now being used against me.
On top of that, I have multiple friends who have had PPF installed on their cars — and when their film had issues due to washing or small defects, they got it replaced under warranty without a problem. That’s the level of service I expected when I paid $800 for just the front bumper. But now I realize all I paid for was a piece of plastic and an installation job that probably costs no more than $150 total in materials and labor.
It’s honestly disappointing. The whole point of paying a premium is for peace of mind and protection — not to be left with a bubble in your PPF and a voided warranty for trying to do the right thing. I trusted NM Tints with my new car, and this experience has completely let me down.
