First of all, I am a long time 20 year patient of Southlake Dermatology and have watched them grow and greatly expand the practice over that time. Second, I have been a patient of Beth Palazzetti for much of that time. I consistently schedule my annual exam with Beth to check on sun damage and other potential problems that could creep up on me. This latest appointmentâs purpose was to exam and then biopsy an area on my temple that has shown a concerning progression. Beth, Dr Bowers and the entire team from check-in, to intake in the examining room, to my interaction with Beth to checkout has consistently been a very pleasant and worthwhile experience. There are a few reasons for this. First, the entire staff is really good and really good at making you feel like the entire clinic is there for you. The process they use to work through your appointment is very comfortable and engaging. You will feel like youâre working with friends rather than clinicians. Beth and her team listen and convey that your issues are heard before they provide a response and suggested solution. Examinations are comprehensive and explanations and alternatives are fully explained. This is a very empathetic team. When they do have to treat you, their process is very well managed giving you the confidence they have your best interest at heart. I know they are now a big practice, but their size has not changed the personal touch that distinguished going way back. Iâll find that I can usually get an appointment fairly quickly when I need to. Well done Beth and the entire SD...

The front office is organized and efficient. Runs on time, and the front desk staff is exceptionally kind.
Iâve waited to post this for a while to see if the care would improve; however, Iâm sad to report that almost every nurse and PA Iâve seen struggle with customer service. When I visited two years ago, I was 10 minutes late to the appointment (I was 3 weeks postpartum), and made a joke that itâs quite an adjustment to motherhood. The nurse responded by saying, âI have three kids, and I manage to stay on time.â Fast forward to the surgery with poor aesthetic result: when the spot was removed for potential cancer, the PA shared my care instructions. I came back weeks later with a puffy, horrible scar and her advice was to âstop touching it.â Even today, I listed a few items to discuss with the PA, and the nurse said, âwe only have the space to discuss three items.â (I had four. đ)
So if youâre looking for a corporate office with many providers, clear insurance, and a multitude of services, this could be the office for you. If youâre looking to discuss your health at length or feel personally cared for, I would...
Read moreIt feels like this place just really wants your money. I have always felt like I had the most expensive prescriptions and no clarity on when taking them would end and my face never fully cleared. I moved away so I was doing virtual visits. I went to schedule my virtual visit and they scheduled it not a problem. Then I have my visit and my dermatologist just hopped on to tell me she couldn't help me because I was not local and needed to find a doctor near me. That was okay, the worst part was I was hit with a $127 bill for her to tell me that. I was not evaluated at all and I did not receive a normal appointment. It was less then 5 min of her telling me I needed a new doctor. If I would have known I would not have scheduled the appointment. Felt unfair and taken advantage of that they would still bill me for it. Felt like someone scheduling me would have known I needed to be local but scheduled anyway for me to pay $127 for nothing. So if visiting here please be careful of them doing things not out of help but to...
