My husband and I went to Sky Creek restaurant for brunch Saturday at 9:30. We ordered starters: 1 yogurt w/fresh fruit, homemade berry jam and granola and 1 blueberry pancakes w/lemon curd, homemade berry jam and fresh fruit. When our food was served, we pointed out to the server that my granola was missing. Our server left and when he came back 15 minutes later, he brought us the check (which we hadn't asked for yet), no new food and he hadn't discounted or comped anything on the check. That was downright rude. So we put the bill aside for the moment. Then we waited another unreasonable amount of time for my granola. He finally brought me a new yogurt but still no granola. Then we pointed out that my husband's pancakes were missing blueberries and homemade jam. So the server says something like, "I don't know what these guys are doing. I will have to talk to them". But the yogurt is served in a clear glass; if the server had checked the glass before he walked away from the kitchen, he would have seen that the granola was still missing. So he leaves our table again. He brings me some granola. But he says nothing about my husband's pancakes so I ask him, "Are you going to bring my husband new pancakes with blueberries and jam?" He says yes and then leaves. I finally am able to tuck into my yogurt because who is going to devour yogurt and then eat granola all by itself afterward? He finally brings new pancakes and they look exactly like the other ones (plain pancakes w/syrup and that's it). So I point out to him that the blueberries are still missing. He says I have to lift up the pancakes because the blueberries are on the bottom so I do and there they are but the jam is still missing. So he brings me a tiny canister of jam and a Smucker's apple jelly packet. By that point, I sense that he is irritated. And he doesn't check up on us anymore after that. I will concede that once he brought me the granola and I mixed it in with the homemade jam, fresh fruit and yogurt, it was outstanding. I highly doubt that I will ever return to...
Read moreSo, hotel check in was good. Umer was friendly and pleasant. Politely explained my gold status didn't qualify me for their concierge because there are apparently different policies for hotels. But the restaurant, Willie the hostess stated a 20 min wait due to 2 parties of about 14 people and all other tables were empty, but the bar tables were faster. Not sure how that works, should all be the same kitchen. I think maybe Willie assumed I wasn't restaurant material. Christine seemed capable and Sophia seemed nice but both slightly unatentive. Steak and Fries was good. Sides possibly better that the steak. Ordered med rare and there was no blood which should be med in my opinion, but had red suggesting not the best cut. The topping sauce was over pureed and more like baby food, but had a good flavor in less quantities than was smoothed on the meat. Hotel so far a 7 and restaurant a 3, don't forget I ate at the bar. Food gets a 6. Asparagus and potatoes out...
Read moreI have to be honest, our Valentines dinner was ruined. The preset menu was mostly unavailable, they were out of everything I wanted and I had to have what was available. Our waygu tartar was like ground beef, I have had tartar at Michelin restaurants in the past, this was most definitely not even close. It lacked seasoning and was just not good. Our steaks were over cooked the first time they came out and we both had to send them back. They did come back cooked right and well seasoned. The dessert was very unusual with the bruele being very bitter and the cake so dense and cold in the center. Our meal was comped, however that really doest fix the fact that we were there to celebrate, we could have gone to several other restaurants and by this experience, we should have. Honest truth I ended the night vomiting. I can't say that I will ever go back, I would be imbarrased to take a client there and have it turn out...
