As a family, we love the tender care and love that everyone shows to our mother, her friends there, and to us as we visit. The activities that they provide for the residents are superb. I want to call out a few people - and I know I will miss many. As my father passed away and at other times with Mom, we have held family parties and dinners with food there and Mel has gone out of her way to make the event memorable for Mom. As a side note, Mel and her excellent staff provide great meals for the residents - Thank you. Tami and Shelby are always there to greet us as we enter the building, are available to answer questions, keep us informed, and ensure that the billing is managed perfectly. The management team of Jace and Tonya always make us feel at home as we visit. MaKell and all of the CNAs, etc. do an exceptional job of taking care of Mom with all of her needs. And a really big thanks to all of those aides and CNAs that personally take care of Mom. Over the last 18 months we have grown very close to those listed above as well as many others such as Nikki and so many others that take such tender care of Mom in the cottages. We have watched as all those listed and so many others may be employed at Legacy, yet we see them in their comforting, caring, loving, and true caregiving roles with not only Mom, but with all of the residents. They are so tender in everything they do - whether it is delivering medications or food, brushing out their hair, painting nails, helping them bathe and get dressed - the tenderness shines through above all else. Thank you Legacy House staff - you are great!!! At this time of year - I want to state that as a family we are so thankful for...
Read moreLegacy House is amazing. My sister Theresa VanKampen is a resident here and from day one she has been treated with respect and great care. The place is beautiful, clean and very inviting. The staff is always very respectful, kind and sincere. When we met with Tonya for the tour, she was very knowledgeable and took the time to let us know what they could offer. Theresa needed transportation for dialysis 3 days a week and Tonya made all the calls, put everything into place and made that happen. This was the deciding factor in making the move and we have been completely satisfied with everything and everyone since then. We have had so many great interactions with the staff and other residents. Theresa has developed a close relationship with Sidney; she is so attentive and patient. The girls in the dining room know exactly what Theresa needs when she gets there (a cup of coffee with 4 creamers). I have had lunch with Theresa a couple of times, the food is delicious, and the people are very attentive. Legacy always has something going on for the residents; keeping them busy and involved, making sure everyone is given the opportunity to participate and have fun. The staff keeps us informed when Theresa is not feeling well. The CNA's and Nursing Staff are quick to identify a problem and if they think she needs anything they will call to let me know. We love this place and feel so good about leaving Theresa here. We know she is loved and cared for, and everyone goes above and beyond to make her feel like family.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you do for Theresa. Tom...
Read moreIn the last year and a half that our mom was a resident at Legacy House, there were a handful of really wonderful people who touched her life and ours and for that we are very thankful and the facility is lucky to have them !
However, the turn over in staffing is concerning and the administration seems to be falling short in the running of the facility.Very little of the description given to us by their marketing director happened and there is definitely a communication problem through out the facility. When problems would arise all we would hear is , thank you for bringing that to our attention, with no change or follow through by the administration or we would be told, there was a policy change. Calls or return calls after hours were rarely answered and cleaning staff needs training just to name a few things. We were also told the unit our mother was in would have 2-3 staff which never happened. It feels as though the facility is to concerned about cost verses the quality of care.
Our mom passed away at the facility recently and not one of the administration made any acknowledgement until 4 days later even though we came in and out multiple times pass their offices...
