I'll start with the positives: There is a wide variety of doughnuts and other products, they have good service and good people and are open early in the morning, so it's great if you're getting off a really late/early shift and need a quick treat! It's a nice shop with good decor as well. Now on to the negatives. In my opinion, the doughnuts are mediocre and over-priced. The ones I got both times I went were kind of stale and fairly flavorless. The frosting/glaze on one of the doughnuts was also not viscous enough, so it was just dripping down the side. The parking lot is a mess and getting in and out is an ordeal by itself, not to mention they close way early in the day, so it's only a "breakfast and brunch" kind of thing. Besides that they are okay. So if you're just looking for a quick bite early in the morning and don't care too much about taste, this is a great...

I would give it a 5 star review if only...

I have been coming to Cowboy Donuts for years since they opened in Spanish Fork. I have always loved Cowboy Donuts and it is a family favorite.

But today that all changed. For the first time, you are now doing the 'turn the iPad around so I can leave a tip'. I have to tell you, most people DO NOT like this. I know MANY people who feel the same way I do. I get so uncomfortable at the counter service places that 'turn the iPad around' and watch while we either leave a tip or click 'no tip', making us feel like idiots for not leaving a tip.

Here is a tip. STOP doing this. You are a counter service place. You are not a 'full service' place. When counter service restaurants do this, it makes me want to go elsewhere. I really like your donuts, so I hope you please take this comment into...

if your only donut experiences up to this point have been grocery store doughnuts, you will probably find cowboy donuts delightful like the rest of Spanish Fork. However, for those of us that went here with high expectations because of the raving reviews, cowboy donuts does not stand up to the standard of any other donut shop… that I have ever been to.

If you can make the drive, go to literally any doughnut shot in Provo—MUCH better with greater selection. Or better yet, if you want the best doughnuts around the area, hit up Donut Star in Draper.

I can support local, but these reviews from Spanish Forkians don’t tell the whole story if you’re from out of town.

Worth the drive across the...

Good service with super friendly staff but I had been really looking forward to stopping in here i saw a couple reviews on TV and heard it was amazing. The donuts weren't bad at all but I didnt think they were anything special. The batter is more of the cake consistency instead of the traditional chewy stretchy center. Again I would go back but not something I will make a special trip for. The kolache was pretty good as well I got the jalapeno ham and cheese it had food flavors and wasnt to spicy but had a lot of jalapeno flavor to it. The dough they use on those is nice and light and buttery. If your in the neighborhood it is worth stopping in.

Use to be cowboy donuts. Now donut run. Donuts got better. We got an Apple fritter and a cronut and a chocolate raised and an egg and sausage kolache. Apple fritter has good little apple chunks and good spice level. Not chewy and crispy edges enough and almost tasted underbaked. Cronut had good layers but the layers were a little doughy and felt like the butter ran out while baking. Chocolate raised was solid. Egg and sausage was good. Not as good as Hrskas kolaches but nice. Overall donut run 7/10. I would not go out of my way to get them but I wouldn’t be sad if someone brought them.

This is a great donut shop with a nice variety of delicious treats. I have never sat down to eat inside as we are usually grabbing a box to take home but this trip I found it to be a great place to eat some donuts and take a break. I love that they throw in some fun seasonal options and everything tastes so good and fresh! I wish they had an option or two for people with allergies but what they offer is the good stuff, we just can't come as much as we'd like since we usually have one or two people who can't enjoy them with us.
