My oldest son is a junior on the Delaware Valley varsity cross-country team. On Labor Day, we visited a Nike outlet and a running store with hopes of getting a pair of new running spikes, to no avail, either because their supply was inadequate or the shop was simply closed. My son entered a "running stores near me" search on Google and Root Runners showed up, prompting us to visit their shop, which is roughly 40 minutes from the Milford, PA area.

While at the shop, my son stepped on an electronic display that immediately provided statistics on his weight distribution and displacement, so as to provide him the best fit and best quality shoe. Those statistics were emailed to us, free of charge. Furthermore, since my son was a student-athlete, he was given a 10% discount, and as a New Jersey retailer, Root Runners did not charge sales tax for clothing and shoe sales. My son left a happy customer with a brand-new pair of Hoka spikes for use this season.

Because of this experience, Root Runners receives my highest recommendation. Their customer service was second to none. We will be back for every cross country and track season,...

Amazing Experience! I'm a new runner training for a 1/2 marathon and wanted to get some new running shoes to support my training. I setup a fitting at Root Runners to get some help. Matt was amazing. I came in and got dedicated attention from him right away. They scanned my feet and went over every measurement. We talked about my training schedule and any discomfort I feel. He answered ALL my questions patiently and was evident just how much he loved talking about running and helping people out. He then recorded my gait as I ran and walked me through a slow motion review of my running, showing me my pronation among other things. He then pulled out multiple shoes, showed me different lacing patterns and let me do a little run with each shoe...showing me the differences in support, asking me questions and taking time. After literally checking out eight pairs of shoes with Matt...I got a great pair of NBs that feel perfect. I cannot recommend this experience...

I was in desperate need of a quality pair of running sneakers for my half marathon that was coming up in a few months. I was a decently avid runner prior, but always ran in basic Nike's that I didn't realize had zero support. When I got to root runners, Matt, the owner, stayed with me the entire time, giving me a personal one on one experience. They have a foot scanning system which shows your exact shoe size and everything there is to know about the balls, width, etc of your feet. After that, he had me try on multiple styles and even let me jog outside with them to find the perfect fit! He taught me SO many things about the fit and feel of a shoe, and even taught me that I had been wearing the wrong size running sneaker for years! All I can say is that I never got the service or the education at any regular retail store like this. I will 100% be going back when I'm due...
