Sparta Annex Bakery & Kitchen — Restaurant in Sparta Township

I had high hopes for this place. We've been following them on Instagram for over a year and couldn't wait to try it. We drove quite far and spent close to $60 to be severely let down. First off, they forgot to add the biscuits to our family dinner order, although they did agree to make it up to us in a future order. The mac and cheese was dry with little flavor. Frankly speaking, it was pretty bad and certainly wasn't the same mac and cheese I've been seeing for the last year in their social media posts. It was a totally different noodle and the cheese was like paste vs the creamy sauce we've been seeing (See pictures) The mashed potatoes were cold and bland, no flavor at all and the gravy was bland and lumpy. The chicken was really the only thing that i enjoyed and it really wasn't anything to write home about. Finding Sparta Annex Bakery & Kitchen felt like stumbling upon a treasure trove of tasty! We first came in to purchase dessert for Thanksgiving, I picked two pies from Sparta Annex, and they were an absolute hit among our family and friends!

The fried chicken and tenders are a perfect ratio of crunch and juiciness! The biscuits, with their flaky layers and buttery richness, were an unexpected honey delight. But it's not just the chicken, and sides, and baked goods and homemade sauces that makes Sparta Annex stand out; it's the people behind the scenes. John, in particular, went above and beyond during our recent order to make our meal extra special. In a world where great customer service can be a rarity, John’s kindness and dedication to customer satisfaction truly made our entire experience enjoyable, down to the last bite!

Got a chicken parmesan sandwich the other day. The chicken itself was good. As far as being a chicken parmesan sandwich, terrible. Definitely shouldn't be using thick tenders for a sandwich. It hardly had no sauce and the cheese had no taste and was not thick and stretchy like it should be. It was like a light cheese sauce for thick tenders on baked hard bread that was impossible to eat. I just took the tenders off and ate them plain. Won't be getting that again and maybe nothing from there since the vitamin water was $4.50 a bottle to boot...and of course they have the credit card reader with the "tip option" which is a turn off for a pick up counter order. $18.77 for that hot mess and a...
