I came in just before closing tonight with a simple request of a few Federal Pacific breakers. Sounds pretty easy right? No!!!! The Old 1914 S. Hill home has numerous electrical problems multiple panels mostly old wiring and some new. Being in property management for the last 12 years I knew by the looks of the panels that issff DJ not a good situation. It started out with the patio lights, my sons room, and the bathroom lights being out. So initially I went to flip that breaker and it did not resolve the issue no lights there still. After returning to the house from picking up my son the living room lights dining room lights we’re now in operable as well. Today the breaker popped in the bedroom upstairs so I initially went down to reset the breaker. I think it’s the breakers that are bad go to Platte Electric Supply they referred me to be our best because there specialize in federal Pacific panel. I am so glad they did because when I came in I had a bunch of questions Which Brian the owner was happy to answer. Now please take note I am not an electrician, I am not the owner but the tenant that wants light and heat in the house. The landlord and owner are not very eager to spend money to have an electrician come and look and fix the wiring so I took it upon myself to remove the breakers and bring them to a place that specializes in electrical to try to be able to power my house and tell my electrician comes to look at it. First off I want to say that Brian and crew absolutely recommended that I need an electrician, somebody with professional experience to handle it and to fix it correctly per code. That being said they did answer a lot of questions and we’re very straightforward with how an electrical panel is wired, how wiring typically functions in a house outlets versus appliances and so forth. I now have so much more knowledge of the basics set up of wiring to use and utilize for the rest of my life. And amongst all my stupid questions they did not once seem irritated or make me feel in adequate in anyway. As for my electrician he will be here tomorrow morning to Restore power. This is a great locally owned electrical supply shop with real, down to earth people that genuinely care. They are not stingy with their knowledge and are more than fair with pricing.

That being said, the prices for used equipment/parts are getting as high as ESP eventually got ((The very last time I went to ESP I was quoted a price for used panel that was $2 more than Home Depot’s new price?!))

Bryan to pay spot copper/brass prices for your stuff or free when buildings get torn down, Or Penny on the dollar of outdated or surplus items Then turn around sell for 20x the price you paid just seems greedy. The parts I paid $30 for I looked at the breaker warehouse out of Seattle & could get it shipped to me in a 2 days for $20 less. New olde stock, not even used! I know you are running a business, but dang maybe get rid of the gal standing around getting in way & looking for customers to annoy….b/c although she’s good at what she does 😂 A necessity she’s not.

Spoke with a nice lady on the phone and told her specifics on what I needed and she assured me they would be able to help. Dropped everything I was doing to drive 45 min to get there. The young guy there was trying to help me when I told him what the lady told me, he/Brian took offense got up in my face and said they wasted too much time on me already and told me to leave. Bad day or just a prick? Sure was quick to puff his chest out. 1st and last time I or any of my family or friends will ever go there besides that you said you didn't need my business anyways. The 1 star is for the young guy that was trying to help me until boss man stepped in. There's too many other places to go and not have deal with people like this guy. DON'T RECOMMEND BL BEST AT ALL.
