I'm a three strikes and you're out kind of person. Last night was the third time I had gone to this Asian market and they were closed early. I've seen them closed an hour, a half hour and last night 20 mins early. Last night when I walked up to the locked door and jiggled it, the guy inside looked at me. I pointed to my watch and put my hands up like what the heck. He stared at me and shook his head no. So I went to the Asian market on Sprague. I've been a loyal customer of this market but no more. I'll never darken their door again. The Asian market on Sprague was much cleaner, very well stocked, very organized and the quality of their produce is superb. I had bought some basil from this market earlier in the day. A lot of it was very wilted. I needed more which is why I went back. I'll just say the basil I got from the Asian market on Sprague looked like it was just cut from the garden. So not only is the service at the Asian market on Sprague far superior, so are their products. I'll be going to Sprague from now on. This market just lost a long time, loyal customer. I still gave them two stars overall, mostly because of the really cool older lady who's been in there for as long as I...
Read moreI am a repeat customer. Their selection of both Indian and Asian teas, spices, and just about everything from the Indian subcontinent, Asia and the ME is superior to all other stores of this type in Spokane. I buy things having no idea what they are and then have to go back and stock up! I love to linger and just take in all the foods--like a mini world tour I stroll those crowded aisles (crowded with STUFF, not shoppers!) I even started buying the porcelain tea things and dining ware because they are inexpensive and high quality. They have every kind of rice grown on planet earth, in case you're into red, black, or other rarities. The proprietress pointed out that they prefer long grain white rice and best quality white basmanti rice in their own cooking I'm betting dinner is pretty awesome at her house! Oriental Market makes meals more interesting and less expensive at our house,...
Read moreI absolutely love shopping at Oriental Market for my Indian cooking needs! As soon as I step inside, the familiar smell of a store and atmosphere instantly transport me back to my home country. The lady who runs the store is incredibly kind and always goes out of her way to help. She even informs me about product availability and when specific items, like curry leaves and mint leaves that are otherwise hard to find in Spokane, will be in stock.
They have an extensive selection of ingredients/products from India, as well as from Thailand, Korea, and various countries in Africa. Whether you're looking for spices, sauces, or specialty items, they have it all!
They receive a fresh batch of various leaves, including curry and mint, every Wednesday.
Highly...
