Won highest bid on a shelving unit, the terms stated shipping was available for a $3 minimum and possibly go through another shipping company with larger boxes. Fully expected to pay additional shipping fees as I do on all items I won the bid on, but this was absurd. The lady then called us and stated "you don't want me to take the shelf apart to ship because it is $50 an hour for labor." $50 to take out some hardware that may take 5 mins at most. I rescinded my bid and she still charged my card, I disputed the charge and she proceeded to send me an email in all caps saying I should read their terms. No where in the terms is there mention of $50 an hour labor fee. Upmost lack of professionalism with the lady we have dealt with, we will never bid on items from this shop again, wouldn't...

She was abrupt in her manner of showing disinterestin what I was trying to sell to her but she's thoroughly answered all of my questions even though she was quite abrupt and cold in her manner of doing so and left me with the impression that she had other things to do that were more important than listening to me and answering my questions she clearly was knowledgeablein all things having to do with the procurement of coins and their backgrounds and I was impressed with her level of intelligence and communication although was very offended...

I buy a good bit of items in online auctions and recently won three auction lots from Vintage Mercantile. I am extremely pleased; the entire process was seamless, smooth and professional. One lot was glass, which was exceptionally well-packed. The other two lots were model trains/locomotives which were packed exactly the way I pack mine when I ship to one of my customers. All three lots arrived damage-free. Their shipping costs were very, very reasonable; and they shipped in a timely manner. I'm planning on bidding on at least three lots in their current auction because I know from personal experience that these are good folks...
