Jersey Pride Food Store — Local services in Spotswood

Bought one ice cream cone for 5 dollars (everything in the store is overpriced) and my son started eating it right away. Unfortunately the entire top fell on the ground because it was slightly melted coming straight out of the freezer. I asked if I could use the bathroom to rinse it off and attempt to salvage it and was told no. I’m appalled that he didn’t just offer my son another one. Having bought one for five dollars, when the entire box of this specific ice cream costs five dollars up the road at ShopRite, would mean had he just given us a second, the store would suffer no loss. Absolutely no signs of compassion or empathy from the worker. The only reason I could be understanding is because I figured he didn’t want to get in trouble from his boss. He also asked for my PIN number after I swiped my card so he could put it in told him no. The last time my husband was there (different worker, probably the owner because he was older) the worker DEMANDED that my husband give him the PIN number and when my husband told him no, the worker said ok then I’m not accepting your card. Something about the place is mad shady. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have some sort of skimmer on the card reader to steal your information. Do better… or don’t, I mean it really doesn’t matter to me because I won’t be there to witness it since I’ll never step foot in there again. The store is always clean and the staff is very respectful.
