This summer 2023 I decided to spend some time to explore pottery making. I chose this studio because I wanted to try out pottery making first with a one day experience ( use the wheel with their expert guidance, create a finished piece and paint the piece). I loved my process during the one day wheel experience and decided to take their 4 week wheel classes. I mostly learned from their staff Danielle and she was an excellent teacher!
One day wheel experience $48 per person perfect friend hangout or date activity! make 1 piece on the wheel with expert staff guidance with options to make 1 more piece on your own paint your piece with engobes paint and pick up your piece after a few weeks!
4 week classes $200 total- such a good deal! Weekly 1 hr classes that includes all supplies, glazes and firing make atleast 2 pieces depending on how your skills progress throughout the classes. I made 6 pieces but only took home 4! I was a beginner so Danielle focused on throwing cylinders. However I wish there could be more variety in throwing different shapes- like a bowl I learned so much from each class from wedging clay, centering, making even walls, trimming, making and attaching handles
I loved my experience here and I'll be back to utilize their studio space for wheel throwing as well as glaze some of their...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I recently visited this studio as we're new to the area and were looking for a fun, creative experience. Unfortunately, our visit was extremely underwhelming. First and foremost, we were required to make a $40 reservation—despite the studio being completely empty on a Saturday night. It felt unreasonable and, frankly, exploitative to charge that much when there was no demand or limited availability to justify it. Once we began painting, the staff repeatedly reminded us of how much time we had left first 30 minutes, then 15, then 5 despite us being fully aware. Their constant interruptions made it difficult to relax and enjoy the activity. The ambiance was also lacking. For a place that promotes itself as a date-night pottery painting experience, we expected a more thoughtfully curated atmosphere, especially considering the cost. Overall, this experience fell far below expectations. I wouldn’t return, and I don’t recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine,...
Read moreHidden pottery gem in NJ. They offer beginner classes, artists can rent out space / time to use the wheel, 1-day workshops and group parties. Purchasing a workshop or classes is a little confusing on the website, but just pick up the phone and call to clarify the details. Staff is friendly and love what they do. My girlfriend and I booked the 1-day workshop and it was loads of fun. We sat at the wheel and with the help of the teacher I made a bowl and my friend a small vase. Once that was done, they fired it up in the kiln while we looked at the painted and unpainted pottery they have around the space for sale. Then we painted our items and picked them up a week or so later after being fired up again. I have a new found respect for the artists. Definitely recommend for young children to explore. Fun for the...
