Store is friendly, but the small engine "mechanic" is rude, cocky and very disrespectful to the customers. I bought a chainsaw for $1000, got the extended warranty, and found within 2 weeks the bar had a factory defect that ruined the chain and the bar. Was told I was the reason for the chain being bad, showed him the defect, again claimed I was the problem, took it in back to fix the bar, did not even grind the defect off, just tried to hide the defect and claimed I had to pay for a new chain. Went to the Muskegon ace where I was told that spring lake never actually registered my saw, and it was a 2 year warranty not a 4 year as they told me. They very kindly replaced the bar and chain as a full warranty should and helped me actually register my saw with stihl. Corporate has been notified of all my issues with spring lake and the extreme happiness I had from the Muskegon store. Will never be spending money in Spring...

Customer service “in store” is very good. Almost too much at times for a smaller store. Took my chainsaw in to get repaired and never received a phone call about the status. Waited 2 weeks to finally call. Said they didn’t know when the part was coming in. Waited another 10 business days and called. Same excuse. No reason why so after a month of keeping the saw I went to get it back. Communication was terrible. While I was waiting I was approached by a total of 3 associates while the manager was in back getting my chainsaw. Wow Ps I was not having a bad Day. Ace Hardware employees have no idea what a Dump cart is!!! Asked 4 employees, including Manager where the Craftsman Poly dump cart is, none of them said it was there. So, I showed them that it shows in stock on my phone, then the manager acted like he knew where it was this time. The girl told me to go to Tractor Supply, so I did just that. You don’t expect big box stores to know product but not knowing what a dump cart is just sad for consumers!! Gas prices are too high to waste my time and money ever going to ACE hardware ever again.
