Food Lion — Local services in Spring Lake

I’ve had two recent experiences where I placed a pick up order directly through food lion and another where the order was delivered through door dash. Both times I was completely disgusted by the produce I received. The first order I received had a spoiled pack of baby ranch potatoes that I literally could smell before I even pulled them out of the bag. They were so rotten that there were live maggots all in there. The second order I received I ordered cherry tomatoes in hopes that I wouldn’t have the same issue after talking to the manager and being assured they would make sure their products are fresh. Well, the tomatoes were rotten and had maggots also. The mozzarella cheese I got was expired. There is absolutely no reason why the shelves are not being maintained to ensure products are fresh and not expired. For there to be so many incidents of this lets me know that the department isn’t being by checked before restocking or even just daily to make sure this doesn’t keep happening. It’s disgusting. As much as I love going to food lion because of my previous years of fresh produce and great savings, I will not be shopping there anymore. Please check your produce before leaving and report any that is inedible...

Cody is always so patient and helpful as all the cashiers are but their are too many to name.

And Mr. Frank is ALWAYS at work and has ALWAYS been helpful especially when I shop with my children he assists me to my truck with my groceries.

There is ONE person in particular who I believe should not be working due to health issues, I will not get into detail but any employee or regular customer should know who I am talking about and in my opinion he should not be working especially not around food. 🤷 He's a nice guy but I believe his health is a hazard to himself and his "accidents" are extremely unsanitary in his...

Filthy... the conveyor belts a the cashier checkouts have been absolutely nasty the last 3 times I visited foodlion. I work at a smaller grocery store across town and would go to foodlion to get a couple items we don't carry, but I recently stopped shopping all together at foodlion when I clearly could see that they don't clean the caked up mess on their conveyor belts which if nobody has realized, usually consists of the blood and goop that drips out-of meat packages and other frozen or refrigerated items that aren't sealed air tight. I know this because I often clean my own conveyor belt at my register at the place I work because of this exact reason and it becomes a health hazard when you consider salmonella and e-coli come from meats and eggs, etc and their residue from their liquids and so forth.

I would only shop there if I know my items haven't touched something that has hours, or even days worth of built up filth all because the teenager or whoever is at the register is too lazy to clean up. Very...
