El Burrito Mexican Restaurant 3 — Restaurant in Spring Lake

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant on tonight (3/15). From the moment I walked in to place a to-go order, I felt unwelcome. The staff was unprofessional, laughing at me and making me feel mocked, which was hurtful and unacceptable. The server that was talking about my family to her co-workers is Aylin. I did not appreciate that experience at all, and as a business owner myself, I believe we should always professionally conduct ourselves, which she did not.

After ordering, my food was ready but was purposely left sitting for 20 minutes at the front before it was finally handed to me. The server went to the front and appeared to talk about us to the gentleman as well. When the gentleman was asked why we weren't notified about the food, he had no answer. We were sitting right in front of the front desk and there was no reason for this. When we left, the gentleman and other co-workers talked about us as we went. When I got home, I discovered that the food was terrible—and worst of all, my shrimp was raw. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this until I had already eaten some, which is now a serious concern for my health.

This experience was unacceptable from start to finish. No customer should have to deal with this kind of treatment or unsafe food. I truly wanted to give this restaurant a fair try and I definitely did not want to leave this review but I did not like how me and my family were treated and I can't say that I will return. 1st time at this location. The place was very clean and not too busy. We walked and were taken to a table immediately. The waitress came and got our drink order immediately. We got our chips and salsa, my wife asked for mild salsa and was brought Tomatilla sauce! She does not like anything spicy but of course I loved it and kept it to add to my meal and my salsa. Placed our orders with no issues. Dinner came and the food is great. She got Arroz con pollo and it was a huge portion. Enough for leftovers. She was very happy with the meal. I agree with some of the other comments I've seen that this place has a lot of potential. It's pretty good. The food that I got was good. It was good quality. My drink did not turn out right but the bartender had no problem remaking it and it came out perfect the second time... I will say that they were late bringing me my food. I got my food probably about 15 minutes after my family was given their food so that kind of messed up. As far as everyone's sitting there waiting for me to finish my food while they were already done and my kids getting antsy because of it.
